Celerity
What an embarassing waste of a character and all of our time! The character took a huge investment of time but I just wasn't doing anything and I did not enjoy logging on. I took more deaths with this character than my last 4 50's combined...ugh.. Time for my short rant: Not to mention all 4 of my enemies who have one (or two) average 31+ wrath weapons...all of which can one round me through sanc if I am unlucky. My other opponent could make all my pets disappear with just one spell (not being able to save against it either)...and then there was Dumela which was just plain embarassing and unprecedented in my utter failure of common PK sense...also, undead really should be immune to negative energy things such as skeletal drain and life drain... Rant finished, thanks! Thank you to the following chars for being involved with me in some way or another, but this just wasn't the char to do anything special. Maldibion Marath Triston Omysa Caervrin Todall Hykinay Sylana Rosali Mordven Gryton Lemus Tristin Kraffen Meriumae Wixan Aranok Baerdryn Vengeant Koviaem Gorynych Tnaris Wellaby + the various other members of the cabals that I interacted with or uncaballed people that helped me out! Other great memorable PK moments included doing a NOF instead of NOD when Triathix logged on...mobdeathing in desolation (which loses all your eq in my case) because I did a S instead of SL...having Drayson do more than 600 damage to me with one hit (causing a one-hit kill)...and being one-rounded by a lowbie in the end because I was being a stupid idiot. Also the innumberable times I lost all my pets when I logged off (should just make animate corpse into animate crab/drstam). I strongly, strongly, strongly advise anyone from trying some interesting RP combination that you know has some huge PK flaws unless you do enjoy dying (which I never do..)! I feel this character had some potential, but it just wasn't happening. The PK powerspike of the combo wasn't quite there. RP is much better as a lowbie... Next time, should go lich and gain the PK benefit of my combination...or just go illithid and achieve some kind of power spike (and save 150 hours of my life twiddling my thumbs at 30--don't go for qrace/qclass unless you are in the American time zones). Goodbye to a project that lasted only a few months and hello to something new. You say 'Yes.' ** says 'You ask so much from this world.' ** says 'But you do not see that the path runs two ways.' ** bites his lip. ** says 'You are cunning, but you fail to see what your fellow man does.' ** draws closer. ** says 'Take this and learn.' ** draws a tarot card and reveals [ Justice ] to you. An eye for an eye... ** says 'It hurts me more than it hurts you.' ** winks suggestively. A plainly adorned humanoid is here. Thickly layered and hooded robes hide much of the figure, but it is obvious that a male human is beneath it all. The heavy hood is drawn back, revealing some of his partially veiled face. Noticeably, his hair is deeply black and oddly cut to almost girlish standards. The hair crowns a chiseled human face. The lines are deep and angular. The sharp face and large surreal eyes give him a trademark ethereal presence. Those eyes mirror his hair in color, sharing the same shadowy countenance. The nose is slightly disfigured and has probably been broken some time in the past. The exact details of these features are blurred by a thin veil. The veil looks to be made of a deep gold silk-like material that is partially translucent. His posture is light and relaxed. He does not move with the loping gait of a martial fighter but his walk does give rise to some sort formal training background. He has a light chain of tattoos and slight scars flowing over his body. Miniscule tattoos of objects ring his pinkies and thumbs and are each connected to scar lines that ride up his arms. Those lines are occasionally interrupted by small, seemingly random designs which have been woven directly into them. Sometimes the designs are as simple as tear drops whereas others are tiny yet intricately cut and colored animals or people. Assumedly, those scar threads connect to the lines that lead up the back of his neck and disappear behind his long ears. Here is a man that either carefully cleans his garments or somehow avoids getting them dirty in the first place. There is almost no sign of road wear anywhere upon them. Robes of the style that he is wearing often hold hidden compartments within their heavy and numerous folds. The robes are primarily black but have deep golden folds scattered within them. If not for their golden highlights, the robes are plain and heavy enough to befit most any faith's order of the devout. This man adorns himself with no obvious religious symbols, masking the faith that his robes proclaim. All in all, while this man doesn't look exceedingly strange, he has a deeply unsettling countenance about him. --- app + Death is often misunderstood. What happens when we die? Maybe we are app + pulled into the nether regions, limbo, or some other astral plane. Maybe we app + are reborn as some other form of life. Maybe we are simply destroyed, app + continuing no further existence. All three of these paths have their app + hallowed place in the legends, magic, and faith of the cultures of all app + races. What few understand is that all three are working simultaneously. app + app + Living creatures are made of three primary components. These components app + include matter or tissue, a soul or spirit, and a mind or identity. Our app + tissue allows us to interact with other creatures and objects, manipulating app + the world around us, making us useful. Our spirit serves as a link to our app + creators, giving our lives a purpose. Our identities are what define us as app + mortals. It is the most fragile component, and somewhat ironically it is the app + most treasured. app + app + What people truly fear is not the reformation of their tissue or the app + returning of their spirit, but instead the annihilation of their identity in app + the process. Tissue is broken down and reused by the world, the natural app + laws see to that. Every physical piece is reused, so there is no loss app + there. The spirit returns to its master, which has been chosen based on the app + creature's actions in life. The identity is completely lost at the time of app + death. I wish to circumvent this process. app + app + Investing in bettering an identity when it will only be destroyed is app + foolish at best. Simply abandoning the tissue is also foolish, for when one app + becomes a spirit, they lose both their will and ability to act upon the app + world meaningfully. So I have sought to preserve my identity and my tissue app + together. To do this, the spirit must be sacrificed to a greater god. But, app + it is only a mock sacrifice, as all spirits are claimed in the end anyways. app + By devoting my spirit the greater powers of death, I will be able to app + accomplish this goal. app + app + This knowledge is the accumulation of my studies. Death, like all app + things, is only feared when misunderstood and uncontrolled. I have devoted app + myself to understanding this quality of transience. Now, I wish to take the app + next step and exchange my service and loyalty to make my identity and tissue app + permanent. Use my spirit. Twist, contort, and shape it to your will. It app + has always been yours to do so and I now willfully return it to your direct app + control. If being alive means the destruction of my identity then I shall app + prefer death. app + app + Saruk the Sage of Transience
Twinblades713
Bwahahahahah I knew it!!!! I knew Saruk was yours when you wouldn't tell me who you played... one thing I have to say is sorry. But you did make a kobold very pleased with himself for about 11 minutes. You're fast while running through town and still human =D
Montahg
Ah man, I had some interesting RP I was gonna do with your little army you were building. I said I would join your army, and I was going to use that as a front to completely turn on someone, either you or the cabal I was going to join, depending on how the RP went. Ah well, I love our interactions together, I'm sure there will be more of em, on different chars. Good luck with the next!
mya
That no NOFollow must have been priceless. I would have gotten mad. How did Drayson make 600 Damage to you ? And how did that kill you ? You should had more than 600 Hp's as a human. Anyway, 600 Hp is huge. I mean even for a Vulnerability Cleave through no sanct that is a lot of damage. ARGH!!! Just checked cleave. Why the hell do they get to factor weapon vulnerabilities, while my mounted charge give normal non-magical damage. Another prof of the game BIOS toward evil characters. Still 600 is to much, i can see it doing around 450 but not 600. You have a Log Celerity ?
Celerity
My base HP was less than 600(550?) (I had +hp gear, but I wasn't quite at full health when it happened, maybe 90%). Cleave definitely factors in vulns... Saruk was an undead, so had a weapon vuln.
mya
So what now ? Want some ideas ? Try a Blackguard. You know as in the Orginal D&D contest. Start as a Paladin and then move on. Or what about a Paladin for Nature in Watcher. I never seen a paladin in there. If you want impiration check this out: http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0001.html Its extremely funny. Implementor Anume Posted December 28, 2007 Implementor Report Share Posted December 28, 2007 You've not seen many paladins in watcher because outcasted Palis find it a bit hard to commune. Only neutrals can join, remember? As to Saruk, enjoyed what interaction we had. Good luck on your next.

Aulian
Lol even -I- was suprised when I got you Unfortunately I couldnt leave anything for you - undead and tribunal? Pretty much the ultimate anti-watcher combo I can think of I liked the idea of your character, besides for that one PK we hadn't met before, looks like we won't meet again either. Ah well, well done on the effort! Move onto something you will enjoy more!

Tantangel
I had Islildien hit me for over 550 in one hit, thankfully it didn't kill me but just about. Never interacted with Saruk, but having the problem of logging on with no pets and the likes would be rather annoying. The power spike of the class is high, but with that problem of having pets disappear on you when you log on again the power spike could be very brief. Pali
Yeah, it'd be nice if necro armies were a bit less difficult to hold on to... sad to see you go though, if only because I was hoping to have a crack at you with my paladin. Celerity
Its not possible to do 600 damage in one shot... For an elder reaver dk using a level 10 malform on a vuln sleeping race, it is..

Celerity
Try testing it on mobs and you'll see it isn't possible regardless... On a mob you will just see unspeakable and not know if it is 450 or 1230 hp.. It is definitely possible, as it did happen. Whether or not it SHOULD happen is another question all together. Kyzarius
The key is not to get caught sleeping  Never got to interact with/fight Saruk. I hear you on the losing pets though. That bug is game breaking for necros, I know in the past you lost all at log out anyways. Todays mud, however is much different from the mud historically. I deleted my most recent Necro, Viruthix, All I did was raise zombies...get a full squad then log out to get a drink and come back to find them all poofed. Real harsh stuff. Good luck with your next Cel, your Rp is always fun and PK wise your always a challenge in almost any form.

Nomak
Times when everybody feared the undead are far gone.In my oppinion they are the most weak race right now.Only undead ninjas/thieves doesn't suck that much because they can hide. mya
Go say that to a Lich. But you are correct. Now that Knowledge is greater, it is easyer to take them out. But Undead are not weak. Just some combos. Undead Necromancer is already weak from Turn Undead and Special Turn Undead. And how do DK's get acess to average 30 Holy weapons ? Agreed. Especially if you are a 20 strength class. Always carry holy weapons and you'll be fine.
