I have an idea

The safety of the cities and ability to players sit and RP is the responsibility of Tribunal. We have a whole cabal dedicated to protecting cities that a high amount of the populace spends their time. Maybe Tribunal needs to do their job a little better?

Exactly. You want the cities to be safe? Make yourself a Tribune and MAKE them safe yourself.

As much as I dislike the way Tribunal is set up atm, still this.

Me and Meleecrazy though up something like a no rp room, but I think it would be abused no matter what. Perhaps a room only heralds could summon you too if you acccepted. I don't know.

I do like the idea, but I see it as being abused somehow.

Imagine that the city gate guards act as guild guards. They do not allow you in for a full day after battle. Something like that could work.

foxx, it wouldnt be impossible to deny the auto-assist for injured players. that would include injury from drug withdrawl, hunger and thirst, to force people to move from the center squares.

Except that would make cities safe places to just sit forever, which goes against a core concept of FL: that everywhere is dangerous.

I've played MUDs where the 'noviolence' flags were on temple rooms - what happens? You guessed it - 50 people on and 48 of them are in the temple. Of those two I'm lurking outside waiting for the guy twelve ranks (no PK limits here snicker) lower than me who told me I was a useless turd. Ironically I logged out and he snuck off for some equipment. A simple login and that was one problem solved....

However, I digress: I don't like the idea of non-violence rooms. Mostly because they will be abused, but also because WE as the players have been given the power via Tribunal to actually enforce this in the cities if we so desire. Only one of you? Well, I've seen single Tribunals have enough to pull get everyone in line when they log on.

Maybe i should run a Tribunal.

But i hate that they are opposed with Watchers.

I don't get it. Why does Watchers vs Tribunal even exists ?

As a tribunal you have to:

Watch over the city.

Fight Criminals.

Fight Syndicates.

Fight Warmasters.

Fight every elite PKer that get OUTCASTED.

And for what ?

For roleplay?

EDIT: Why should they fight warmasters?

And why should they fight outcasts? You mean outwals perhaps?

I think she means:

Watch over the city.

Fight Criminals.

Fight Syndicates. <--- Only when they break the law.

Fight Watchers.

Fight every elite PKer that gets OUTLAWED. <--- Not really.

Every Cabal has people to fight, some more than others.

Tribunal also is the only cabal that can kill people outside their pk range, and give people an xp debt, and keep people out of the fight for an extended period of time, and have a large number of mobs in several areas autoattack on sight, and deny people the ability to purchase items from a large number of vendors, and get a very strong autoattacking pet, in addition to their cabal skills. So...yeah, I think they get plenty for their job.

Auto full-loot on outlaws too.

Bahh... i meant fight Watchers not Warmasters.

I find Watchers to be fuzzy wuzzy lovely creatures.

And Outlaws not Outcasts.

Still it's the most demanding Cabal in game. There is no hiding, you are always open to attack.

Maybe i should run a Tribunal.

Ohh god, please no...My poor "Invocker"

You are now "WENTAD!"

I think Mya is Viribot in desguise...

Everyone is always open to attack.

There is a certain cabal skill that helps Tribunals with this.

Nothing is saying that a Tribunal must always be in the city, if he is wounded after a battle I'd expect him to rest up somewhere safe.

Keep in mind everyone that its not set in stone for Tribunal to fight Watcher and Syndicate. There was a Syndicate/Tribunal alliance at one point, fairly recent if I am correct. I see no reason why Watcher/Tribunal can not work out some RP to form an alliance.

-Trick

Perhaps because Watcher is dedicated to destroying the cities?

I could see a very temporary alliance against some great threat that was about to destroy the world... but beyond that, I couldn't ever see Watcher and Trib working together.
