Guest emp_newb
it is actually a series of stacked commands. Remove all;drop all;delete;delete. That should take care of it honestly though I had no idea you could make it go away
Kyzarius
there is a feature in some mud clients called "squelch" that allows you to do that.
English lad
You should be able to gag them depending on what client your using, atm I'm without a PC expect at work - on which I can install any thing, but once I get my new PC - hopefully within a week i'll play around with MUCHclient, Zmud and RoA and put something together, those are the only clients I really have any experience with. mya
There is no need to Gag. There is a mud command to do this. I accidently done it in the past, but disabeled it again because, knowing that you have a shield is nice. But due to certain conditions, as no longer being a teen, i need to exclude that much information overload.
Kyzarius
use colors mya. I highlight all my defensive moves to dark blue, effects I hit others with gets a nice bright green (like "Mya screams in agony as plague sores erupt from her skin" is bright green on my screen). Important spells that I have fade in red "Your protective shield fades" or whatever it is exactly is in red big bold red hehe. I leave the incoming dmg as red and my dmg as the mellow orange/yellow color the mud uses. Incoming spell effects are in red as well. Heck I even highlight my prompt to let me know if its day or night just by seeing that I have a yellow or blue time indicator. Incoming spell effects are in gray if they fail, and red if they succeed...shields getitng disarmed, heck any message from the mud that means I need to do something QUICK comes in red. I also set my effects list to highlight anything that has 2 hours left in yellow and 0 or 1 hours left in red. When your speed reading, like probably 90% of this muds players are REAL good at even if they dont know it hehe, colors allow your brain to filter what you glance at. So on a black background subtle colors like blue can be easily ignored..but if you NEED to see say..how many hits you blocked for some reason you can. While importan crap like key spells failing will come out the screen and slap you in the face hehe. It took me just a few days of reviewing logs after I was done playing to put the hihglight file together for my client and I have appreciated its impact on my gameplay every single time I have ought anyone since. You just dont miss that your sanc dropped when its bold, in red and flashing hehe. heck, heres an example of some of my highlights...I just build the file accumulativly as I play new classes so theres stuff from several classes in here. hehe #highlight {green} {Your reflective shield flares and fades} #highlight {red} {Your shield of spell turning collapses.} #highlight {green} {appears to be blinded.} #highlight {green} {but you keep your balance!} #highlight {green} {can't seem to get back into the air} #highlight {red} {disarms your shield} #highlight {blue} {experience points.} #highlight {green} {eyes widen in fear!} #highlight {red} {for 0 hours} #highlight {red} {for 1 hours} #highlight {yellow} {for 2 hours} #highlight {green} {has been paralyzed!} #highlight {green} {is blinded by smoke!} #highlight {green} {is blinded by the flashfire!} #highlight {green} {is plagued by doubts of %1 own faith!} #highlight {green} {looks very ill.} #highlight {green} {manage to infect %1 with insomnia!} #highlight {green} {screams in agony as plague sores erupt from %1 skin.} #highlight {red} {trips you and you go down!} I know I have harped on this before, but man...thorough highlighting can REALLY help you be aware of whas going on. Now you dont want to highlight EVERYTHING.. I leave when armor, shield, stone skin, detect invis, detect magic fade off my highlights...but key things that really do have an immediate impact on whether or not you survive can really help cut down the Noise without compromiseing the flow of info in retrospect.
