[ 10] AVA SAVANT Valganti: Ferdin and house Rochester

Sun Jan 13 13:34:09 2008

To: all

A recent minotaur raiding party has razed the house of Rochester, and

murdered all who were inside. Tensions are now rising between Shasarazade

and Mahn-Tor, and Ferdin has forgo his last name, in a vow to leave his past

behind and make way for his future.

You tell Arograth 'I see criminals walk through the cities unconfronted.'

A Gateguard of the Righteous Palm yells 'Caervrin is at Before the Great Southern Gate of Val Miran of ValMiran!'

A Gateguard of the Righteous Palm yells 'Caervrin is at Before the Great Southern Gate of Val Miran of ValMiran!'

You tell Arograth 'They stand about as if they had years to rest'

Arograth tells you 'Will you be joining taking up arms with the Militia?'

You tell Arograth 'I am not one for laws, but they do have there place.'

You tell Arograth 'I have lost my family, my home, my past'

You tell Arograth 'I joined the clan of hope, seeking for peace and to settle my mind'

You tell Arograth 'But I am at a crossroads'

You tell Arograth 'Would you judge me worthy of protecting order?'

Arograth tells you 'How so?'

Arograth tells you 'Hmmm...'

You tell Arograth 'My family was murdered by the minotaurs'

You tell Arograth 'Those ungodly creatures that profess in barbarism'

Arograth tells you 'Do you seek to bring war to them, then?'

You tell Arograth 'I am unsure, for now, I am in deep mourning'

You tell Arograth 'I had had a lovable sister'

Arograth tells you 'Your loss was recent?'

You tell Arograth 'Indeed it was'

Ringing with holy fervor the temple of light bell announces high noon.

Arograth tells you 'You have my condolances. Family cannot be replaced.'

You tell Arograth 'I have lost any past ties to my family, and so I am no longer one of the disintegrated 'Rochester' name'

***Kazlor the minotaur has found the note from Valganti***

Kazlor tells you 'Stinkin elf, thats what ye get.'

You tell Kazlor 'You dare speak to me?!'

You tell Kazlor 'You abominable beast?'

Kazlor tells you 'Who yah callin beast, pointy-ears!'

Kazlor tells you 'Yah had this comin fer a long time, yeh?'

You tell Kazlor 'I call upon the ones who savagely murdered my family of civilized elves'

You tell Kazlor 'Beasts indeed!'

Arograth tells you 'I cannot comfort you, for your loss is forever. But where will you now go?'

Kazlor tells you 'Come-uppins fer usin slave labor, almond-eyes!'

You tell Arograth 'I-I..I have much hatred in me at the moment'

You tell Kazlor 'You will never take the elves as slaves'

Kazlor tells you 'We dont want ya as slaves, yeh?'

You tell Kazlor 'You would stumble about upon your own two feet before taking us into slavery'

Arograth appears in a swirling mist.

Ferdin bows deeply before you.

The Hall of Hope

This chamber is replete with vaulted ceilings, connected to thick pillars

of marble lining each side wall. The floor is mostly stone, save for a

broad carpet lain in the middle of the hall. A large council table is set

at the far end of the hall, with numerous, tall-backed chairs behind it and

the sigil of the Knights of the Crown hanging on the wall behind them.

Large doors of oak are set into the eastern and western walls.

[Exits: east west down]

A copy of the Commandments is here.

Arograth the Iron Forger, Unbreakable Pillar of Order is here.

The Clanmaster of Hope is here.

Kazlor tells you 'But ah was taken as a slave, yeh?'

Arograth frowns.

You tell Kazlor 'You were a slave?'

Arograth says 'It is most unfortunate, what has happened.'

Kazlor tells you 'Made to werk for some elves, yeh?'

You feel less protected.

Arograth says 'And your feelings are understandable.'

Arograth looks at you.

Kazlor tells you 'Now we gettin some paybacks, yeh?'

You tell Kazlor 'The elves would never do such a thing, you must have mistaken us for drows'

Arograth says 'Now you are being tested, indeed.'

Kazlor tells you 'On all yah stinkin pointy ears'

Ferdin clenches his fists tightly.

Arograth says 'For how will you temper your anger?'

You say 'It must be tempered well, otherwise I will be led to the wrong path.'

Arograth says 'Will it be forged into a tool of righteousness...'

You say 'Irumeru guide me.'

Kazlor tells you 'Yah think yah so better'

Arograth says 'Or vengeance?'

You tell Kazlor 'Better than living in the squat-filler you sleep in'

Arograth strokes his white beard thoughtfully.

Kazlor tells you 'Well yah not, milky-face!'

Arograth looks around the room.

Arograth says 'You have comfort here?'

Ferdin reads the commandments outloud.

Arograth says 'In these halls?'

Kazlor tells you 'Its time of tha horns, now!'

You say 'Let not there be Weakness, only Strength.'

You say 'Let not there be Fear, only Courage.'

You say 'Let not there be Slaughter, only Mercy.'

You say 'Let not there be Doubt, only Faith.'

You say 'Let not there be Pride, only Humility.'

You say 'Let not there be Greed, only Charity.'

You say 'Let not there be Disgrace, only Honor.'

Ferdin finishes with a sigh, then heaves his chest forward.

You say 'I will do as I was taught to.'

You say 'To unleash vengeance now is to use a dull blade.'

Arograth stares thoughtfully at you.

You say 'But to temper it, with the might of righteousness would create a blade of purity that would blind the evil.'

You tell Kazlor 'You will pay for what you and your host have done'

Arograth says 'Indeed it would.'

Kazlor tells you 'Yeh? You and what army, yeh?'

Arograth says 'I ask this, however.'

Arograth says 'Keep in mind the peace of others in your quest.'

You tell Kazlor 'With the might of righteousness, and the hope of the elves, you will fall.'

You say 'Indeed, I cannot allow emotions to endanger others of innocence.'

Arograth says 'Don't bring your war here, if that is the path you choose to take.'

Kazlor tells you 'Yeh, self-righteousness!'

Arograth nods gravely.

You say 'Yes, but war has come here already'

Arograth frowns.

You say 'War may start soon.'

You say 'I fear the minotaurs have gotten out of hand'

Arograth says 'You feel it as well?'

Ferdin nods slowly.

Arograth says 'The change in the air?'

You say 'It whispers upon the grassy meadows.'

You say 'Where I used to live, the plains were wide and humble'

You say 'They told us of dark times coming'

You say 'The time is near.'

Arograth says 'Like when the storm blows up over Khorand, before the skies open and the snow falls.'

Arograth nods and says, 'You are perceptive.'

Arograth says 'It's coming, and all will be tested.'

Arograth says 'I hope you find what peace in your meditations.'

Arograth nods and turns away.

Arograth walks down.

Ferdin whispers, 'And I hope that you find your hammer strong against the oncoming tide.'

Ferdin looks once more at the book of commandments and turns towards the stairs.
