Pali
America's hardly in better shape... half the country can't find Texas on a map of the country, and ten percent can't even find the US on a world map.
English lad
A helluva a lot less than I did when I was younger and at uni. I drink 3-4 pints across the space of an mon-fri, in terms of a "quick drink afterwork" I play football on a saturday and have a couple after the game. On a Saturday night out which I probably do every other one, I drink a fair bit more 4 - 5 pints and then 2 - 3 Vodka and somethings depending on what mood I'm in. At university I probably averaged about 3 pints a day, if not more, with a LOT more on a night out.

I don't think any Americans think Roosevelt was a fictional/mythical person Plus, truth be told, I've always had the sneaking suspicion that immigrants make up a majority of those statistics...I've lived in three states (Washington, Texas, California), and I've never met anyone who doesn't know where US is on the world map, or where Texas is. Actually, most immigrants do their research before comming over here. I have meet plently of purebred americans who didnt know where states were, or that we are currently at war. I don't know of any single person I have ever met in England that doesn't think Churchill exists. However, the reason behind this is because we have a very popular insurance company in the UK called 'Churchill Insurance' and so I'm sure if you carried out your own survey, "Does Churchil Exist?" you'll get many people saying "Yeah, he's that dog that does low-cost car insurance right?" On a serious note, that survey is out of 3,000 people, and I hope that's not an accurate reflection of the country. I don't know of a single person that's had at least a basic school education in history that thinks Churchill doesn't exist. I'm not a patriot by any stretch at all, but I would be ashamed to find out that a large percentage of Englands's population thought Churchill wasn't real. As for the answer to question in the thread title, I consume (in an average week) about 30 pints of beer (or the equivalent in terms of alcoholic units in vodka, scotch and sambuca). England is very much in a binge drinking culture at the minute, whereby the in-thing seems to be people not drinking all week and then getting absolutely smashed at the weekends to the point where they're laying in pools of their own sick - not good. I just spread my drinking out thinly throughout the week, with 2-3 pints a day Sunday to Wednesday and then going out on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday and drinking enough until I am pretty drunk, but never enough to be 'so wasted I have no idea what I did last night' (although sometimes it happens). I'm pretty much a lightweight when it comes to how much I can consume in a sitting so it's not so bad for me. Dey

Deykari
Sorry, I forgot to state that that's an average 'drinking week', which with the current state of my finances is usually once a month, the first after payday. There's no way I drink that much a week, every week, though it's more because of the money. Most of my diet is junk food too, but I don't seem to put weight on - fast metabolism. I'm slowly, slowly, slowly, beginning to notice it as I get older - I have a small beer belly forming. It's the fact there are pubs everywhere you look. Lunch break at work? Head to the pub, have a pub meal and a pint. After work? Maybe have a quick pint with the work lot before going home. Then money permitting, a few nights out later on in the week. It's not really that bad at all. If I'm in pub I'll drink pints of lager. If I'm in out in a bar then it'll be Vodka & RedBull, neat scotch or shots of sambuca, poured into the mouth and set on fire in the mouth. Guest emp_newb
Ok, Im calling horse **** on that. Usa is the capital of micro breweries, and home to more beer manufacturers than anywhere in the country. And because I have 2 computer chairs, one has a keg in it, the other has me. elfdude
On the whole drinking thing im just going to have to say that wisconsins binge-drinking incidence is a whole 3% higher than any other state in the union and theres only two besides that are even close. Im going to have to reckon that everyone in wisconsin drinks more beer than anyone else in the world bar germany and maybe one more. Just putting that out there
