killalou
Okay guys I need some help. I downloaded this program knowing that it had spyware because I thought my remove spyware skill was oh so "leet". However, I did mention to remove everything...but one program that I already deleated is still on my taskbar on the desktop. The icon looks like the windows security icon shield with the red white X. It keeps alerting that my cpu has spyware and I should click the icon. Once clicked a page I.E. page opens up and redirects to virusheat.com. How do I get rid of the icon and its annoying alerts that go off every 3 minutes?
brsingr
try all of the following - ad aware, ccleaner, spyware blaster, and AVG free. that's what I use. also, look for it in the task manager's processes tab. if you find it, and are sure that's it's, select it and hit end process. also, if you can find out what it's called, go to start, click run, and type msconfig, find it in startup items and uncheck it. a-guitarist
I just ran a google search on virus heat, came up with a lot of stuff on how to get rid of it. There might be better ones than this site, but this is one of the first I found: http://www.xp-vista.com/spyware-removal/virusheat-removal-instructions a-g
brsingr
just a note, besides the programs i listed, all of those just stop the virus from doing what it does, or from starting up when the comp boots. the programs will get rid of it, i got that same virus before, it was avg free that fixed it
