English lad Posted March 17, 2008 Report Share Posted March 17, 2008 Not deleted, despite my initial reaction to do it, but certainly taking a serious break. I play this game 90% for RP and 10% for PK, I know thats not what everybody else does, and thats fine so I'm not going to moan about other peoples RP. The fact is that the current Savant/Knight situation is just a real killer for Burich's RP. I have no problem getting killed/full looted by a Nexus, as that is what Burich signed up to Knight to do, but when its a war that only exists for the mechanical reasons of Cabal Warfare, not for any RP purposes, I find it hard to get up any desire or incentive to do it. Basically I guess PK is without a RP basis is quite far down on my list of things I want to do. I've been meaning to make an explore/Identity type character for awhile now, so maybe this is the time for me to do it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The Savant vs Knight conflict is land driven and in the history of the world by FL standards and by RL standards possession of territory has always been a motivating factor for conflict. So in truth it is no break from roleplaying (defined as your characters emotional responses to the reality they exist in) for the savants to assault any who would stand in their way, and likewise it is no flaw of Burich's if he defends this land from being taken. In truth for "land driven" cabals possession of land is easily defined as influence across the realm as well as resources for their cabal. The knights have taken up a lot of land, so in response the other land driven cabals that can in some remote way ally have most likely met by now and drawn lines as to what lands each will take form you, heh. Personally I like the land driven nature of the conflict between cabals more so even thn the "capture the flag" portion. It really does in some fashion or another paint a picture of powerful organizations sending their generals and commander out to maintain control over their territories. Gratz on not deleting! You are doing great with the RP and sure the war with Savant is not what we had in mind but we have to roll with it and adapt. Just hang in there. The knights need all the help they can get, and with a solid rp-ing ranger, you are an excellent addition. I get so tired of constantly only fighting healers. Or maybe teltar once in a while.
