HouselessRogue
I have heard a few people say that you should do this. I am curious to know why. I know that there is no different in amount of hp, mana, or moves you get at 50... so, what's the advantage?

Ex-D&Der
I have noticed for moves that you start only gaining 1 or 2 per level at a certain point. You would reach that point sooner if you use your trains for moves before you reach it. I assume a similar thing happens for health and mana, although I haven't observed it frankly. Mali
Well... I save my trains. Let me just say it works out better this way. A character that uses trains at pinnacle for something like HP will very likely be healthier than one that has used the trains one by one while leveling up. This is assuming that both have went through the game with full constitution.
Aulian
Im not sure how current this information is but based on the numbers (code) and ignoring perks (newer code ) Each race class combo has a sort of average given to it. its not a certainty but its not that inaccurate either. EG: a human caster will have slightly more MANA to HP ratio in comparison to the HP to MANA ration of a Warrior
Deykari
DISCLAIMER - The below may or may not be true. One of the big 'FL' rumours is like what Aulian said - that the MUD will attempt to steer your characters statistics somewhere towards an average at 50. An example - Feral Ninja should have about 600-750 max hp at pinn (no trains). For the sake of argument let's say you are guaranteed to get 700. Let's also assume that I save all my trains to put into HP, including the starting ones, and no practices are converted - that's 13 trains at 50. If I rank from level 1 to level 50, I will attain 700 hp. I could then use my 13 trains to increase hp, which would increase it to 830 hp max. If at level 1 I put those 13 trains into HP, so that I have 160 hp at level 1, and then rank up to 50, the MUD will attempt to compensate by lowering the hp gained per level to bring max hp at 50 closer to the 700 mark. That was a very exagerrated example - in reality, level gains are highly random anyway irrespective of whether this is true or not, so there's no -real- way you can see if it works. I do not know if this is true or not at all, as I have never seen any evidence that supports it or supports the counter-argument, I simply play it safe by saving them for 50.. just incase. Aulian
Its been tested. Over and Over with inconclusive results Play it safe, the extra 10hp at rank 30 wont to jack for you, but the extra 150 at pinn will help a bunch
Mudder
I ALWAYS save trains at 50. Hell, most of the time I don't even use them at 50. Lol. I see where i'm at, when I hit 50. I PK a bit and I try to see what I run out of most. Do I die due to lack of hp? Maybe I need more mana? Do I always run out of moves? I then use my trains to compensate for my weaknesses. goldbond
it's also a good idea to save a training's worth of practices just in case you get caballed. not that i'd know, meh
Marc
I don't know about you, but I NEVER put extra trains into moves, I'd much rather have more hp or mana
Twinblades713
I put all extra trains into move on one character once before. It was quite interesting to say the least. I was very good at running, but it didn't help that without the extra hp I would have had that the lack caused me to run in the first place hehe. Maybe one or two trains into moves if one is SO, SO, SO inclined. I never did it again.

Mudder
Everyone pumps trains into HP. In my opinion, that is one of the biggest wastes. *shrug* I am definitely a minority in that view.

Pali
I don't know about you' date=' but I NEVER put extra trains into moves, I'd much rather have more hp or mana[/quote'] Moves become more important for melees, which already have a fair bit of hp, don't need much mana, and often can't use flight scrolls/staves. It all depends what you're playing.

I sort of agree in the sense that it depends on your race/class. Not everything should just get trains thrown into HP IMO, some race/classes combos need that little extra boost to mana. Moves I would probably never bother with though - probably. Dey

Implementor Anume Posted April 5, 2008 Implementor Report Share Posted April 5, 2008 There is no melee in the game that cannot use some kind of flight. (And yes, I thought of cabal choices also.) Re Mudder: Don't see the sense in running around at 50 with 100 practices and 4 trains left either, when you could have 140 hp more More hp is never bad to have. mya
Theoretically you don't even need flight, just a flying mount. That is if you can afford it. 15K is still expensive. MOUNT Syntax: mount : mounts a rented or summoned creature (mounted affect) mount : mounts a creature present in a room dismount The land of Aabahran is large indeed, and many a sole has been worn out upon its paths and roads. To ease the burden of travel many have begun to use various creatures to ride upon their backs. While mounted you will experience a minor movement bonus and more importantly be able to recover your stamina much faster then on foot. Note that if you are summoned, or otherwise forcibly moved, you will be automaticly dismounted. Note that while common mounts give benefits which are below that of an average flight spell, the duration of their stay is far long. Those mounts that posses ability to fly (manticores, pegasus, nightmares etc.) give the user the same movement reduction as a flight spell, without protection against trip. English lad
I would guess Eshaine/Anume is talking about the herb or the rather nice foot armor not any sort of mount.

Re Mudder: Don't see the sense in running around at 50 with 100 practices and 4 trains left either, when you could have 140 hp more More hp is never bad to have. Hrmm, someone has been snooping eh? I actually had 23 trains in total. When I do finally distribute my trains, I will likely put them both into hp/mana and when I do that, I will rock that much harder because i've been used to not having that extra stuff. In response to, I think Aulian. Training mana gives you 20. Training moves gives you 30. Training hp gives you 10. What gives you more bang for your buck? Definitely not HP. Every character I have, gets 120 extra moves. It makes things SO much better and has saved my life numerous times. The rest goes into what I need. Likely a combination of hp/mana though mostly mana. Mudder
On every single character. EDIT: Out of all the trains I use, those are the best spent. I have never been more satisfied with my usage.
