I was never really into them until just recently, that being around a year ago. I finished Death Note a while ago, and I'm part way into Solti Rei, both of which are AWESOME shows. Princess Mononoke was great too. Any other anime shoutouts? I watched Outlaw Star for awhile, and I watch Bleach and Full Metal Alchemist when they're on. I'm not hardcore, but it's fun. Cheers! I still watch Naruto when I have the chance to download the new episodes. some anime I used to watch: sailor moon, Full Metal Alchemist, Kenshin, Evangelion, Fushigi Yuugi, Vampie Hunter D, Slayers, Cowboy Bebop, Ai Yori Aoshi, Ceres, Ah My goddess, Inuyasha, Full Metal Panic, Hellsing, etc. I almost went to Otakon, had everything paid to go with the anime club. inscribed Posted April 9, 2008 Report Share Posted April 9, 2008 i'm kind of particular about which anime i'll watch. i didn't care for outlaw star myself, and i really didn't like escaflowne or evangelion. cowboy bebop is the best though, as was mentioned. trigun is good as well. some others i like: samurai champloo - samurai anime from some of the folks who did cowboy bebop. heavy on the music like bebop was, but with a more hip hop focus, and an older japanese setting. wolf's rain - some different folks from the cowboy bebop crew worked on this. not as much focus on the character, but more focus on the environment and setting. great show. wolfs were thought to be long extinct, and the world is near its end. the story focuses on four wolfs who can pass as humans, searching for a fabled 'paradise'. the story isn't that complex, but its really well told, and the setting is great. initial d - a street racing anime. parallels the life of a former street racer turned pro by the name of Keiichi Tsuchiya. less focus on riced out cars and more focus on the technical aspects. worth a watch if you're into that kind of thing. now and then here and there - only 13 episodes, but its probably the darkest anime i listed. a boy from present day japan meets a mysterious girl, gets whisked away to a new world while trying to protect her, and winds up in a whole heap of ****. kids get beat up, killed, raped and stuff, so its definitely got a darker story, but its still an excellent watch. the main character is around 10, but he's a hands down badass. last exile - futuristic cyperpunk world, about two kids living on the streets after growing up together and then having their parents get killed. they inherent a plane and piloting skills from their fathers and open up a delivery service. they get caught up in a global war, yada yada, but its great. again, the main dude is a little badass. gungrave - a semi futuristic mafia/crime anime, two friends grow up together through the ranks of a local mafia, they split apart, one kills the other, the dead one is brought back from the grave by a dissenting scientist to take down the family. sounds like a simple story but the character development is top notch, watching the two start off young as best friends, and eventually becoming old men and arch enemies. the ending alone is worth it. hellsing - pretty popular, not much to be said here. protestants vs catholics, vampire vs. church. good action and a good story. Some of my latest favorites has been Desert Punk, Gundam 00, and Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann which were all gr8t and easily one of my favs. I must have watched over 50+ different animes and I only have 6 animes deemed to be worthy to put on my fav. list. Currently I am watching Shadow Skill which is decent. My other favs have been Cowboy Behoop, Samurai Champloo, Full metal Alchemist, and Bandit King Jin. This Anime is very good. Its like you just got pulled into an alternative WW2 dogfights.
