Imoutgoodbye
I was browsing some music web sites last night when I clicked on a pop-up for spyware removal.... Someone infected my computer, specifically, I believe, Internet Explorer. I've downloaded firefox and stopped using internet explorer. My firewall blocked something called MalWarrior, Downloader, and Downloader.MisleadApp. All High security risks. I also had a new spyware bar in the browser of internet explorer that when I tried to remove it was called vsntbl and couldn't be removed. I don't want to remove Internet Explorer completely as I have other programs that use it to run... I scanned and removed a Cookie tracer, but nothing else was found... What else can I do? Quigt
I would download Ad-Aware SE here: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware and run that. Also, download Spybot Search and Destroy here: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.htmlhttp://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html And run that afterwards. Both have been very effective for me in the past. Also, if you use AIM and accidentally get an AIM virus that way, then download AIM fix here: http://www.jayloden.com/aimfix.htm If problems persist after running Spybot and Ad-Aware, then consult someone who knows more. Also, using Firefox always instead of Internet Explorer would be a good idea. In the past, it's been a lot safer to me than IE.

Kyzarius
little bit of online irony, banners for spyware/virus/phisher removal are 99% of the time a source of infection themselves.
Ex-D&Der
Norton Antivirus now includes spyware and adware removal as well.
Dizz
I've been fighting a virtumonde virus for 2 weeks and I think I finally got it out. Spybot, Adaware, Vundofix, fixvundo, Zonealarm could not get rid of it fully. The thing was living in my registry and I couldn't get it out. I went here yesterday: http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/Must-Read-Before-Posting-Hijackthis-Log-t2852.html Downloaded the Superantispyware program and it looks like it truely zapped it. It's a cheesy fake sounding name, but it caught way more stuff than any other program did. It's free btw.
