Psycho Child
Same reason I will never play a stone ranger again since they changed the training system. Don't get me wrong, the new training system is alot better, I just will never play a giant again.
FatMike
Never played a stone past 10 I think but Fire Giant's kick ***. It's only time after all and if you don't have alot of time then they probably aren't worth the effort for you. However, if you do they are far and away the best giant race to play. Their defenses still go up decently fast(not as fast as my gnomes but still), and if you go ahead until mid thirties before you train warrior weapons those will go up fast enough also. Zerks are ridiculously easy to train just by raging and not having any hit/dam roll so I usually train them at or near 15 when I do my defenses. Never tried a cleric, have a hard enough time keeping any mana with the one I have now much less with an FG because I'm sure their supply is lower. Short and Furious
a *FULLY* trained fire giant is a murderhouse (i'm talking zerk and warrior... I have yet to play a cleric). does it take time? more than you can possibly imagine. is it worth it? absolutely. i'm talking all weapons mastered, defenses (obviously) lag skills, class specific skills (i.e. headbutt/haymaker). i've done it twice on a warrior, once fully on a zerk (although there have been many, many fire zerks rolled by me) and when they fought classes that were not considered their 'bane' within a reasonable pk range the fights were fast and full of pain. then again, not everyone wants to train for 100+ real time hours, but i'm a perfectionist when it comes to fire giants... hrmm, maybe i'll go roll one right now

Guest emp_newb
giants take more to train as well as ogres but a trained giant vs trained elf of the same skill with player, giant hands down. Fire giants make some of the nastiest warriors. its all about personal taste. I got used to training giants, storm stone fire and ogre where all I used to play then slith. So I really dont mind training.
Dale
Ogres aren't that hard to train.

krounoi
I thinnk Kaz had 700 hours on his fire giant, and I don't think all his spells were mastered(cleric I believe). Ouch!
Warpnow
Sliths are the true untrainable...sooo slow.
krounoi
Especially blademasters. That is THE WORST I have ever experienced.
wolfeman
That reminds me of my feral blademaster that's gone now because I lost the password! Anyway, training was so easy. I didn't even have to train two handed, it mastered while I was ranking. By the time I lost him, I also had polearm and spear mastered, and sword was close to it, this was at level 26, mind you. I've never had an easier time training.
