'So. I registered for classes for next semester and I'm told I need a year of language credits. So. After much thought, I've narrowed it down to either Italian or German. I was thinking Spanish, but I placed to high, and I would have to start at a level that is way too advanced for me. I've asked other people what they thought, and I get a pretty clear divide, except for my uncle, who told me to learn Klingon. So, yeah, I figured this was a diverse group, any thoughts?

Learn a language that matters.

Italians, Germans and French know English and are easy to deal with (ok perhaps Italians are nasty).

Learn:

-Chinese

-Arab

-Russian ???

If doing for fun as your major is arts, go for fun:

-Latin

-French

-Japanese

Italian would be pretty easy if you know Spanish, French as well.

German sounds like fun, it's what I would pick if I had to chose. Pick a language that you will enjoy, and not forget in five years.

Latin and Gealic sounds cool too... thats my personal preference since I'm going for a history degree.

Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian and other intermediate languages such as Galician are Romance Languages

Firstly they're referred to as Romance languages (not Romantic!) because they are based on the language that the ancient Romans spoke which was Latin. It is easier for a person whose first language is a Romance language to understand another Romance language because they share the same root. English is, linguistically speaking, what's called a b*stard language because it has no 'pure' root - it has many influences including Latin and Greek but mainly Anglo-Saxon - as the language developed other influences have crept in. So, I would suggest learning one of the for-mentioned European Languages for future reference should you ever wish to continue broadening your horizons.

It was an hyperbole methaphor.

The truth of it is that i do not know anyone who liked that serie.

(And it did pass in my public television.)

You probably know, because its a US themed serie.

Also, most of my friends also do not like when SF series/movies are to US themed. Example:

Space: Above and Beyond Vs the neutrality of Star Treck: Next generation.

'Wow mate. Pretty harsh. There's no need to lash out at any of us for crap in real life. This is one of the best communities I have had the pleasure to be in, to game in, and just have fun in. This is a community of friends and such, and while we pick on mya, as well as anyone else, when it's deemed necessary, that was kind of overkill. Lighten up Francis.

Dont take me to serious. I here to have fun.

I even like my title and the Irony of it.

And i do admit my post are normaly a bit dificult to understand. Most time when i read them i notice that what i meant to wright and what i wrote are not the same. But hey, such is life. My English is actually pretty good (comparatively) but words are not my thing. I am big with numbers not words.

And i dont pretend to know it all. For example, i found yesterday that the writing style, "Hyperbole", existing in my natural language is the same as in English. I find it quite interesting.
