L-A
Of FFS people - its really simple: Malch (I assume) has enough work with changes to make the MUD better and not enough time to have to go through and code sh!t to stop c0cksucking abusers. Why should he? They know its wrong. The world might be turning into a 'government will legislate to stop you needing common sense' type of place but that doesn't mean the staff here have to take your sh!t. You are actually expected to think about what might be right/wrong if you want to play here. 'I didn't know' really isn't an excuse - not with a Prayer forum offering quick advise as to whether you should or should not be doing something.... Why would Malch put one iota of effort into coding something to stop abusers when he can easily turn off the problem. Be thankful he has given you the option of proving that he doesn't need to do this. He's made it clear he won't give you a warning twice and nor will he tell you if it changes. You'll all just get to find out the hard way and he'll probably laugh at you. I would. Didn't Lytholm have a post on 'legal abusers' a very small while back? Now Malch is onto people who abuse. Let's all take the hint that the IMM Staff are trying to give us - abuse of game mechanics isn't going to be tolereated. L-A
Cycel
Aww, I was just throwing out suggestions because everyone else was. I don't particularly think we need the change, especially if it's bogging down other projects. That being said, I do like the other subtle message: that the IMMs are actively paying attention to us. I know they already do, but the reminder is nice. And perhaps attractive to newcomers...
Implementor Anume Posted May 1, 2008 Implementor Report Share Posted May 1, 2008 Ask Mephizex about getting attention (or high heels) Seriously. The Imm staff is around, watching, rping, helping out, weeping the floor with our occasional cheater and in Malch's case coding / fixing / implementing. J.Twendrist
By the way, I am totally down with banning abusers, I just thought the idea might be one thing. However, when I really think about it, there shouldn't be a need to change it. People should just follow the rules, it's not like the staff is asking much of us to not cheat.
