Forsaken Lands Wiki

I decided yesterday to put together a wiki for FL. It is a good way to compile a huge amount of information in one place that is also easy to navigate through. I added a lot of information already, but keep in mind this is only a day's work, so there is plenty more to be done.

Another purpose of it is to be a sort of newspaper for FL. While we enjoy the events and plots that take place, we've never really made any steps towards chronicling them or the timeline of FL. I'll keep doing writeups on in game events (essentially like a newspaper), and before long we'll have an archive where we can look at past events. (If you look at the first few articles, you'll see where I'm going with this.)

There is also a link to the FL Voter which will run in the background and automatically vote for FL for you.

The link is:

Great job, man! I hope it gets rolling!

If I may make a few suggestions for later?

I'd suggest putting up each races max stats and then what is the commonly considered max roll for the race.

Also, skills and spell and songs for each class would be dandy.

I look forward to checking it out for all my fl needs.

Coolness

Nice job there, I dont know about anyone else, but i think a map of the world would be kinda neat, specially for those of us who have returned and cannot find our way to those oh so fun places.

Are we allowed to post skill lists? I remember that was a feature of the old FL site that was left out of the new one for some reason, skill lists for all (non-quest) classes. As a new player, one thing that always draws me to a MUD is finding out its classes and skills beforehand.

I do not have a problem with that. As long as they are non-quest classes.

I don't believe so. And I kinda agree with that fact. I trust quite a few of my fellow FLers' date=' but I'm not sure I trust everyone not to abuse a site like that.[/quote']

No kidding. Imagine if we let Mya run wild with it. ;)

Wait' date=' can anyone edit it?[/quote']

Any member can create and edit a page, but they won't have any way of linking it to existing content by themselves. I invite anyone who wants to contribute to create content at any time. I'll link anything that is correct and appropriate.

If I somehow miss a page you've created at some point and you want it linked, just drop me a message.

Didn't Mya already try to do this with Wiki? I can't remember why it failed though.

Someone could just copy and paste the Eastern and Western Thera maps you get at creation. I'm fairly certain that is basic enough and still gets the point across...I haven't looked at one in about a year though so the locations might be outdated.
