L-A
And its even Heart breaking to Dispel' date=' as they Smoke a Santuary and dont even leave combat. There went your free PAth/Ray out of the window.[/quote'] If they can smoke something, they can flee/use or flee/quaff OR if you know what you're doing pills that can be eaten in combat are readily available. Free ray my eye. The upside of dispel remains that you can't have an infinite number of these about and the cleric can dispel you at infinitum. Please stop making out good clerics are so hard done by - they are not. They are, next to healers, the bloodly hardest things to nail down that you can even find. The price of this suriviability is they don't have the PK punch of a DK - and nor should they. As to ray/path 40/30 thing - well, I can't think of a good reason that they should differ in casting costs. Perhaps a nicely worded inquiriy to Prayer instead of a constant bitch on the open forums would get more of a reaction from the IMMs though? There are a lot of good ideas, but c'mon, some days even a good idea pitched the wrong way is going to get kicked into the trash. L-A
Ex-D&Der
I would think the reason for it is to reduce their offensive capability, in exchange for greater defensive they get, compared to evils.
KRins
I could see ray costing more, only because it has 2 unhealable effects...where as all the side effects o path can technically be healed.
mya
"2 unhealable effects..." Come on People, you can cure your Silence the same way you can cure Blasphemy. The cure for Shrink is Enlarge. (The same way the Cure for a Necro Weaken is Giant Strength.) And Shrink is not that usefull, because Clerics have Protective shield. It used to be Slow, but Slowing a Mage or Ogre brought many complains. Ray of Thruth - 40 mana. - Blindness - Reds/Gyvles curable. - Silence - Curable as Blasphemy - Shrink - Enlarge to Cure, Lower effect. Lowers STR, Dam, CON. Path of Deception - 30 mana - Blasphemy - Curable as Silence - Plague - Curable by low level items, Herb, Heal, Healers. 0 move regen, damage at tick, Lowers STR - Poison - Curable by low level items, Herb, Heal, Healers. X0% cut on hp,mn,mv regen. No hiding. Lowers STR Also Ray damage is dependent on PK prowess of Opponent. Path is only dependent on your PC PK prowess. There is NO fair reason for Ray to cost more. KRins
How is silence curable? I must have seriously missed something. Shrink isn't curable. You are still shrunk. Just because you might be able to enlarge yourself to counter it doesn't mean its cured. Everything Path can do can be completely healed aka removed from your aff list. Cure = free from the effect. Countered = fended off the effect through the use of another skill, that would otherwise have a good effect on you instead of just making things normal again. I honestly can't think of a single way to cure silence...Esuna? I'd rather rely on the considerable PK skill of that DK or Nexus then hoping I've racked up 20 or 30 pkills myself. If the person isn't a sick nasty PKer...then the slight reduce in damage isn't going to matter much considering he can't kill anyone else, much less the 2nd most survivable class in the game. I'm not saying I think ray should cost more...I just see why the powers that be might have decided to make it cost more.
mya
Silence is a question for you to learn in game. Enlage negates all aspects of Shrink. Shrink, moves your size once down, and adds some negatives. Enlarge moves your size once up, and adds some positives. The net gain of having the Two is Zero. Somewhat the way Haste cures Slow. But having slow + haste is bad, because Slow actually blocks some stuff.
KRins
You missed my point entirely... there is exactly one class that can enlarge themself. Everyone else has to use consumables...so you use up one of your consumables to COUNTER and not CURE the effect. Just because you balanced the equation doesn't mean the negative isn't there anymore. I haven't the faintest idea how long a ray shrink lasted for, but you might even have to use multiple consumables to counter the effect. Considering the cure for blasphemy is explicitly stated in the healer essay, I cannot think of a single reason why the cure for silence can't be discussed. a-guitarist
Mya, you really may have a cause to fight for here. I may not agree with it, some might, that's not the point of my post. You're constantly bitching (yes, not suggesting, not pointing out, but yelling) about something you feel is wrong with the game. This will only generate a lot of people getting mad at you. Ways you could/could have taken this up without looking like an ***: Prayer's Forum (as already suggested) Note in game. Or the one everyone avoids because it involves work... Make a character that proves your point by taking advantage of the situation that you see. After you've done such, bring it up to the staff in a way that says, "Hey, I wanted to try something out to see if I could prove my point. I did, here is what I've learned." Ways you could/could have taken this up to look like an ***: Starting a holy crusade against the game. Hrm, I'm looking at those two lists and I see you falling under.... yeah. Time to just chill on this, you've spoken your peace. a-g
goldbond
quite unfair and even blasphemous towards, Mya, a-g. she has consistently brought knowledge to these forums, despite her pet nickname. the only thing i'm anti-Mya about right now is the push to make ray/deceit even, just because it would make a thousand people roll good clerics. clerics suck. this game would do much, much MUCH better with less clerics no matter what. and it's already been pointed out the philosophy between the point of a good cleric and an evil cleric. even like 4 or so posts ago it was pointed out yet again. aggressive/defensive. at any rate, before you decide to totally trash someone on a personal level talking about bitching and so forth, maybe you should excercise some discernment and basic, caveman respect above all to someone who obviously has spent years with this game with genuine interest. KRins
Goldbond...she has just been pretty much repeating the same thing over and over, each time with increasing use of "I R SMART LISTEN TO MUH" and a more and more condescending tone. a-g is out of line calling someone an ***, because that just isn't necessary to get the point across. Just because someone may (or may not having read some of her posts) have knowledge on a subject doesn't mean they can't be told they are acting in a generally annoying, pointless, and ineffective manner. Mya, just send your idea through the prayer forum. If you don't get an answer they have already talked about it, and it is this way for a specific reason. goldbond
but her posts aren't about "hey, i hate every single thing about this game." and she often drops sudden knowledge for whatever reason. either way, it's a lot more valuable than what most of you have to talk about. a-guitarist
.... I've figured it out. If we all start hugging, then the good will overpower the evil... and the 10 extra mana won't mean anything! a-g
Imoutgoodbye
wtf?! There is no hug party without the Reverend. pmote pulls Krins, Goldbond, A_G, and Mya into a BIG FL hug! Oh, by the way, I've completely forgotten where we're at in this thread. But I think goods are well on their way now.
English lad
Goods numbers are certainly up - which is nice to see. However we've seen that before. What will make the difference is who is playing the goods. As very few people will actively gang (a good thing!!!) the actual amount of goodies is less important than their comparative skill. Like when Iyorvin had his Paladins - you can see what a difference one player makes, especially if that one player takes down a couple of the big name evils and kills off their supersuit! Imoutgoodbye
However, I'm STILL NOT going to play a good! Hahaha! And why won't I play a good? Because if I did I'd be more confused than Wesley Crusher nude in Tasha's bed! "I'm not anatomically correct!"
KRins
Valek...you are crazy man. First a pmote group huge and then an anatomically correct joke. ROFLcopter sir, ROFLcopter. On topic, it is cool to see a near numerical balance between goods, neutrals, and evils. Hopefully it will continue in the future instead of being a short lived fad...like those Furby things (is it weird I still remember those?) KRins
I remember leaving my tamagotchi with my mom when I was at school and being pissed that it died every day because she was a lawyer for NYC at the time and didn't have time to dish out medicine and wash away the crap. I am lame with a capital silent PH at the beginning...
