I Quit!

Thank you all, but I'm very pissed off right now.

I get to play maybe five or six hours a week and right now someone finds it funny to ruin my fun. Finds it funny he can PK me at will. AND WON'T LEAVE ME ALONE SO I CAN GET TO 50!

And I don't like it. I hate it. I need to go drop off some bills at the post office and calm down before I go to work.

So, to that someone, I don't want any excuses. You know who you are. Don't stop by my work, don't call my phone, and don't stop at my house. You can have FL. I'm outta here.

EDIT: Oh, bye from Wibslex. <---deleted, thirteen deaths, not even 45 yet.

Oh Wibslex, I was wondering when we would get to fight. It seemed like whenever I noticed you in the same area, I had just died and lost all my stuff or you had just died. I know exactly how irritating it is to get repeatedly pounded into the dirt...its no fun. We do have some rather inconsiderate players...but that is true for every PvP game I've ever played. In guild wars, I go out of my way to target the classes I know I will just destroy 99% of the time. At least in Guild Wars you have unlimited numbers of deaths and your stuff isn't looted. You are back in the fight in 30 seconds instead of an hour or two trying to get redressed. Hopefully one player's fear to leave the "comfort zone" won't turn you off to the game. I find that I just play at a drastically different time. I know that isn't possible for everyone...but I hope you don't leave the game for good.

Stuff like this is why I always end up with a live and let live RP...because it is one of the very few ways to be distinguishable from the CT v T flashbang war that is CS PK.

No offense, Valek. But in the time I've been playing here, you have quit at least 15-20 times due to similar sorts of things.

If someone is ruining your day continually, maybe have a side project to work on while you're annoyed.

I took a lot of really annoying deaths with my berzerker when the whole mud was allied against Nexus, and I felt like quitting. I think I even wrote a post saying I was done. I used to think like, "I have taken so many deaths, I may as well start over". But I think you'll find, like I did, that once you get back in the swing of things, you start having fun again and the previous deaths will all seem like some long-ago unpleasantness that don't affect the present fun of the character.

I'll bite, since it's me you're talking about. And I've got to say you're blowing this out of proportion. I play as few hours as you, five or six a week, and you've taken exactly two deaths from me over three or four days. I didn't even consider coming after you until you've re-equipped. (Rannal may be bloodthirsty and merciless, but I'm not an asshat.)

I'm playing a monk. You have four levels on me, and the second fight, you had two pets that were two levels above me. I have no reliable way to lag you(air thrash isn't trained and you've been flying in both fights) and I fought in offensive both times, thus making me lag-able by two of your pets.

I hate to say it, but the fact is, you didn't fight well. I won't go into details, but for the most part, don't fight unprepared, or when you don't want think you can win.

I'm sorry you have such a problem with me(not even my character: ME), but I won't give up my RP to coddle anyone. 40 and up is free game for multikilling, but I don't play that way, and I don't think two deaths over a few days is even close to that.

In regards to the "comfort zone" comment, I haven't PKed or been in the 40-50 range very much, since I either don't have enough time to get a character there, or I bore of them very fast. I wouldn't consider 40sh my "comfort zone".

In any case, I'm going to keep playing how I have been, since I don't see a problem with it.

While I agree that even though there are no multi-pk rules past like 40, there is a level of decency that should be upheld, but man... you need to set a delpass. ^_^ Good luck, on your next char when you come back.

Take it easy Valek. Bust out another piece of writin'. I havent' seen any in awhile.

To get even more specific, I was fighting his clan guard to get to him the second time. It was an avoidable fight from the beginning. Also, I don't think two deaths is indecent, considering he could have gotten away both times(I couldn't lag him). Lastly, you came in without sanc at the beginning.

Corpsestomp, I don't know the story and won't pretend to. That is why I made it a specifically general statement. If you're justified, then fine. I don't intend to be ruffling any feathers. ^_^

Though I do think there is a point in which I'd just let him initiate if he wanted to fight anymore. But that IS just me. I don't think less of anyone else for not thinking like I do. Otherwise, this game would be boring. :D

Whenever I consistently get pk'd in the 30s and 40s (and yes, there does seem to be a problem with this among the players here), I just remind myself that people who do that are only doing it because they know they get their asses handed to them when they hit 50.

Whoever did it to you, and I'm not pointing at anyone, I'm sure has tried doing it to others, and I'm sure they have lots of people just waiting at 50 to rip in to em.

My comfort zone comment came mostly from the fact that it sounded like it was happening very regularly, more than once or twice. And I meant that I notice that some character only seem to attack certain people...over and over and over and over and over. They avoid the characters that are considered "elites". Also, it is pretty unbecoming of a good to be bloodthirsty (words out of your own mouth). Teach them A (singular) lesson, advise them strongly to revise their methods, and move on...going out of your way to kill someone...is well, pretty damn evil. I could see about 1 religion that is for goods allowing merciless killing...I can't pretend to know your religion so hat is just pure speculation.

One of the consequences of having new players starting up here is that some of them are going to be idiots who think that rolling over someone again and again is a good way to spend a day. I'm not saying that's what happened here, obviously it wasn't, but increased amounts of low-level pk is something we need to expect as we pick up more players.

These kinds of things happen, and I'm sure you're more pissed off at your friend right now than you are at FL. If you don't have time to play, that's one thing, but don't quit just because someone is killing you a lot. Everyone, even the real elites, has gone through periods of getting massacred and felt like they wanted to give up, but you really do learn something from every death if you look at the logs. A 41 monk has no right killing a 44 necro consistently. Look at the logs, figure out what's going on, find a better re-equip strategy, and maybe change your class or take a break. Just don't let yourself get so frustrated that you feel the need to quit.

V... you know youre my dude and all... but couldnt you have solved this problem by just not letting the jerk know who you play? Cuz it sounds like to me that part of the reason hes killin you is cuz he knows that its you... at least thats what it reads to me. Also... wasnt Wibs undead? Man... you just threw away a qclass... forget TDP syndrome... we gotta diagnose the Valek-strain.... :P Lookin forward to your next char V.

All right, all right...I'm chilled out, calmed down, and wishing I hadn't posted.

V-strain is nasty stuff.

But corpsestomp, I'm not kidding about what I said. Mostly, I think what you did, you did so you could rub it back into me again. I DO have a problem with your character, but that's not for me to decide. I consider it classy to kill someone once and then move on. I'll bet money you haven't killed anyone else more than once. Kill them, move back on towards fifty.

I'm also tired of being made fun of for how I play. Maybe I'm not the most efficient. I know I'll never be at the top of the PK pile, but I don't care. I'm proud of the few accomplishments I have.

EDIT: I need to free up time for some writing project anyways.

See kids, this is why you don't reveal your Characters.

And a Undead Necromancer ... you lucky 50 Healers Clerics and Paladins did not swarm over you like flies. Nice for RP, but they appear to me to be a easy to Win or incredibly easier to Die class.

Maybe a Undead Cleric would suit your play style a bit more. Now that is a Classy Combo. And you can even RP the Undead Raizing part... ;)

Kiddos, if you go on like this we should perhaps consider going back to denying anyone who reveals their chars.... SAD.

2 deaths in more than 1 day is not really multikilling. If a caballed rank 50 char keeps coming after you again and again and again I'd have a problem with that after perhaps death 2 (if they completely destroy you as in 2 round you) - 3 / 4 (about balanced battle), depending on circumstances.

People who started out in 1.0 were used to every 50 and their pet elf trying to get an easy shot at them while they were ranking. Avoiding those deaths and dancing around them / finding allies in time is one of the most fun things in getting those last few titles.

Valek, next time put in a delpass. If you have problems getting to 50, get some 50s to back you up and either take out your problem or rank you there fast. Many current rank 50s will help, I've seen that countless times. (Props to those that do!)

Don't freak out on the forum, don't FLAME PEOPLE. Next time I see something like this expect a forum vacation.

I really hope the rest of you are bright enough not to let this whole sad thing here influence your character's behavior IN GAME.
