Twinblades713
But does wearing an item that lowers con decrease your maximum hp gained when you level? I just wonder if I've not been wasting my time by removing all con lowering eq just before I gain a rank.
Anoneemus
Well...the higher your con, the more hp you gain per level, so of course items that lower con lower the hp you gain as well.
Twinblades713
Which was why I took caution... but why have an item that lowers con around... just to be annoying? Or ... meh. I dunno. hehe
Anoneemus
Yeah, that's pretty much it. You could theoretically keep your con at 8 and find +10 con boosting eq to wear right before you level up. Not worth it though, and con gives you extra bonuses too.
Pali
Which was why I took caution... but why have an item that lowers con around... just to be annoying? Or ... meh. I dunno. hehe For the same reasons we have items that lower strength or dexterity... to give items downsides to using them that need to be countered by other eq. Twinblades713
Yeah, but I'll infect him with Whoopingmonosiclea virus and run away. Then the dying slowly begins! > : D EDIT: Pali, the eye is watching you. Be careful. Muahahahahahaha. Be prepared to be fleed from multiple times! Valsgarde
In the same vein as the topic question: High Constitution helps versus (maledictive?) saves. At level 50 after you start taking deaths and your Con drops, do(es) your save(s) take a dive likewise?
a-guitarist
I'm going to guess that falls under the, "Research and find out on your own." Category. Now, I don't know the answer myself. But, if your con drops, you're less healthy. So why wouldn't your ability to defend against mal's drop? a-g

If I can bench X amount of weight now, when I'm 80 years old I'm not going to be able to bench the same amount of weight just because I used to be able to do it... Ex-D&Der
Do you mean your constitution drops, or your condition drops? If the former, definitely yes. If the latter, I wouldn't have thought so, but others seem to be implying it does.
Anoneemus
Your current stat is the one measured for stuff like extra saves, just like extra dex helps you carry more things. If your stat drops, for any reason, all the benefits of that extra stat point will be lost too. This affects many things, not just saves.
