Murat
Quick question. On Paladins does Heroism seperate the paladin from cabal charmies?
spiegel06
When I played Raniku and used my charmie I wondered the same thing. I tried it and it did not so I asked in the prayer forum and they said it is not a bug. So in short answer no it does not seperate you from your charmies. mya
It separated in my Knight. I have seen Tribunals with heroism and their guards, but you better confirm this one. Its quite complex. In the old days it would isolate on casting, but you could get a pet with heroism, but that was changed, it think.
Deykari
Heroism does seperate you from your pet/charmie/group member. I think, however, that the Trib guard must be the exception. I've never had one myself, but I've had lots of Paladins in Knight, with pets, and all that jazz, and they've always been seperated on using heroism. Murat
ouch sorta gimps them does it not.Either buff urself up or have a charmie.
Deykari
Not really. I would just not have a charmie about 99% of the time. The only exception I can think of is Tribunal, but if as spiegel says, you can have the charmie AND heroism, then all is well. Dey
Zrothum
I'd take the buffest knight charmie over heroism in some (maybe alot of) cases...but for the most part, Heroism ftw
Questioner
Nah, buff Knight charmie FTW. Heroism does not give you the extra skill advantages that the charmie does.
Deykari
Buff Knight Charmie doesn't give you the advantage that Heroism does. I will agree, the buff Knight charmie is much 'stronger', but a paladin at that particular Knight rank already has more than the tools required to be a monster, and my own personal play style means that heroism gives me a safety blanket that would disappear with buff Knight charmie. Meh, would switch and swap between probably depending on my foe. Dey
Pali
I'd take heroism over a charmy 99 out of 100 times as well. Knowing that I can for certain outdistance my foe is a HUGE safety blanket... I love using heroism and pulling enemies into a high move-use place like the Volcano and just dancing around with them for a while until they realize suddenly that they're cursed and out of moves. Oh yeah. Incredibly satisfying. Status ailments aside, a paladin affected by heroism can run practically forever, non-stop, in any terrain. I consider that a huge advantage as far as playing defensively goes. It's an advantage offensively too, for reasons similar to what Pali stated, but I found that quite hard to pull off consistently myself, so I could see where sometimes the Big Buff Knight Charmie would be useful. Fighting an invoker, for example. Tribunal Guard and Big Buff Knight Charmie are the only ones worth using over Heroism though, in certain few circumstances, IMO. I didn't mention the latter before, but I forgot about that one. Dey
Murat
hehe a simple question has turned to a long discussion.I was curious cause I like paladins back in the day and I wanted to see how they changed since then.I dont feel like getting raped like I did back then :)From what I see they can really hold their own even while uncabaled. Though I didn't mind making sweet with Queen Lindsey and Lethereal

Murat
lol Alright I take it hes the class clown of the forum so what:) I am looking for someone who has played some successful paladins that can give me the inside tract on how defend myself aswell as make sure that the character isnt a coward and can kick butt.Im not out to make the best dang pally ever the first time out so ill try and save that for the 2nd one
English lad
Yes Deykari Is the but of most jokes - strangely enough in the same way that Balinor (evangelion) always was That said he'd played a ton of Paladins, and done fairly well towards the end, so his advice would be decent. Two of the most successful Paladins i've seen lately were Orodreth and Ilendriel. So I don't know if Iyorvin or Pali have any tips, but if i was looking for Paladin tips right now i'd be asking one of those

I would be happy to help, if I can. Dey
Aulian
Ah... I have to say this with an odd feeling inside... Perhaps its loathing.. Anyway, Deykari's last paladin pwned face. I dont care what you say. But that dude was beef and he wasnt even caballed. EDIT: So much so that I was even cautious with my halfing ranger stalker... Which should just rape paladins.
