Twinblades713
I was reading a few older stories and read about Thera, as well as remembering some problems with people using that in an app and getting rejected for using a name that doesn't exist. I've always called the world Aabahran when rping or anything like that. I'm just wondering if anyone can clear up for me a timeline of what the world of FL was called. It might not be relevent, but I'm still curious. Like, Is Aabahran the only name we have now? Or is that a subsection of any place or is there subsections of Aabahran, (Like for example: Amn, to Faerun in the forgotten realms) I figure it's probably pretty simple. Expert testimony? mya
This is definitively not Thera. This is Aab.... IMHO we are in a alternate reality (multiverse) of Thera and other Forgotten Realms/AR D&D campaign settings.
Anoneemus
I always remember people from the old days calling it Thera, but now everybody calls it Aabahran.
Imoutgoodbye
It used to be Thera. It's now mandatory to call it Aabahran. Time line wise, I'm unsure. All mention of Thera is being erased. Players will remember it, characters should not remember it. It never was Thera to characters. Purpose is Thera is a stock name. We have evolved FAR from a stock mud. Iusedtobesomebody
Thera comes from stock area references. It was always Aabahran, yet many people still referred to it as Thera. As we weed out the stock areas, this will no longer be a problem. edit: damn you Valek.

And Aabahran is spelled at the top of the page whenever you post at this site, lol. Easy to spell.

Anoneemus
Thera comes from stock area references. It was always Aabahran' date=' yet many people still referred to it as Thera.[/quote'] Mm, well you're right it's a stock name and should be abolished, but actually it was always correctly referred to as Thera in history, RP plots (Theran Wind?), etc. I always saw Thera as being the world that we live in, where Aahbahran is all we've discovered of it. Like on the old roman maps..."Here's our territory! Here's everybody else!"
Twinblades713
Well what Ano said last, is kind of what I'm getting at. Like... From what I understand, all the land in FL currently is not ALL of the land there is in that "universe". Past the seas and north of... Marak and stuff... We haven't made it in a perfect circle... like a sphere....earth. And of course that would be ridiculous to expect anybody would want to build that much. But nevertheless, there's land out there that we don't know. So... we're calling THAT Aabahran too? Kinda like claiming land you haven't seen or been to. All THAT stuff is not encompassed by come other name I suppose besides... Earth... Does Earth fly for that either? It's technically the name of the planet, but it's still a fairly generic term. Like "world".
Imoutgoodbye
Now you're all just being silly. So, before I go to work, I'll put it out there for you. Just because WE haven't seen it doesn't mean the GODS don't see it, obviously they made it. Everything, from a gods point of view, is AABAHRAN, the way the U.S., Korea, China, etc....are Earth. So, you have your Val Miran, Tainted Valley, etc...all areas or "continents" or however you want to classify the areas. In the end, everything makes up AABAHRAN. EDIT: No, you cannot annex the eastern half from the western half, just in case you got the idea.
Twinblades713
Sweet. Then it's answered. Aabahran is anything and everything. Not sure? Aabahran. Think it might be Aabahran? It's Aabahran. Perhaps maybe it's Thera, Earth, world, or even Faerun? Wrong. It's Aabahran. Hehe. Thanks guys.. I'll be in Aabahran if you Aabahran me... EDIT: Valek's mom is silly. Ex-D&Der
Well Aabahran always referred to the whole multiverse. Thera was the planet we spend most of our time on (its an anagram of Earth). The nexus, the vortex and so forth were not part of (or, at any rate, confined to) Thera but they are part of Aabahran. So there's really no name for the planet any more, since "Thera" was proscribed.
