Ghrialton
OK, the guild quests are somewhat new to me, and I've done a few of them - but in this circumstance I'm a bit befuddled. The quest asks me to find a particular mob in the game, and I know exactly where it is - but I'm not getting the message that triggers the first part of the quest. That is, I can't seem to get the mob to react to my presence, so I can return to the guild and complete the quest. Any suggestions?
Anoneemus
If it's a quest with multiple mobs, like "find a ranger in emerald forest" you have to find one specific ranger. If that's not it..I dunno.
Ghrialton
That's exactly it - there was more than one of this mob. I wasn't aware of the presence of a second one by the same name.
Pieman
Sadly the mob that they say is a random one in the area, this causes a giant pain in the butt when you run all over the area and need to sleep to regen moves just to find the bugger. corpsestomp
It's entirely possible the mob was killed after you got the quest. I do that on my evils, I'll kill the target of the clanquest, so only I can do it.

Shinth
I have the exact same problem, I am sent to find a SPECIFIC mob, I find it, but no reply, nothing to help me get started on the quest. I've tried targetted emotes, talking to the mob, nothing. Any suggestions?

Also, I'm not positive about this, but it's possible that if somebody kills the mob before you get to it and it respawns, the quest becomes undoable. I have precise instructions where to find it.
a-guitarist
If you've got the percise direction from the quest, there is still a chance there is more than one. However, if another player told you "Only one, look here." Then that may be the case. Pretty much, if it is a rare name for a mob (Not, an elven ranger, a brownie, a flithy harpy, an air elemental, a surly dockworker, etc.) like the Arachnid queen or something that implies singularity, there is going to be more than one. But, again, I have no idea what you were told to find, so I can't be sure either. If you were running into this problem, odds are there is more than one or someone killed it and it just respawned. a-g
Ghrialton
Nah, just a case of me not having explored or remembered enough. I was told to find the Innkeeper in the Shire. I hadn't realized that there was more than one. The quest system is helping me relearn the lands pretty well, though. It's very good for that, though my character has taken a few mobdeaths already. ::grin::
Shinth
Got the quest again, it said clearly in which city, which house, which person. And I went to meet her right away, so she couldn't have been killed. She didn't speak to me.

Trust me on this... there are a number of bugs I've reported that I've seen fixed in the changes a couple weeks later.

EDIT: Nevermind, it was my fault, nothing wrong with it.
