Tom
I've never figured out what "You lose control of your spells" means. It's happened bunches of times to some chars, only a bit to others, and it always happens off-tick, not on it. Nothing changes on affects or score, either. Fiere
I've never seen it before, ever.
Warpnow
Wow...been playing for...erm...5 years or so...don't remember a message like that...ever...could have happened, but not enough to be memorable... Was it with a special class?
Quin
I just think its a unintended hint into the future..just my thoughts
wolfeman
That reminds me of when psis were being done, and Viri accidentally made one of their commands apply to normal classes. . . I can't say more though both because I can't remember and because it's probably not kosher. Could be that this is a similar situation.

FatMike
if you type f now it says you don't have to memorize spells, or it used too.

spiegel06
I know what he is talking about, it happens with scrolls, pills, potions that I have seen. for example eat said pill grants armor for 10 hours then then next tick it says "You lose control of your spells" it then causes that armor spell to go to 1 or 0 hours. That has happened to me with different chars of mine and never understood why.

Tom
Maybe it's just on monks, but I've only noticed it at low ranks, and my monks tend to not get to high ones.
wolfeman
I realize that this is probably a dumb idea, but you know what they say, it's always the one you least expect. If you've only seen it on monks, perhaps it's the line signifying that you've lost level two chii?
Tom
Nope, this is pre-bolt.
Dale
I have only seen it happen with blademasters. And I don't know why it happens but it makes some of the spells on you go from 30+ hours to 0 hours.
Ghrialton
I very vaguely remember something like that happening with my 2nd character, way way way back. An elf Psi. I could be wrong.
krounoi
Didn't happen to hit 0 mana or something, did you? I do recall seeing it, and knowing why, but I cannot remember what it was now.
Tom
Nope, mana was fine, not empty or full. It's strange, I used to see it all the time until I started looking for it, now I haven't seen it happen since.
H&R
Use to happen to my paladin some time ago as well. I always thought it was a bug, except when it happened to my psi. Don't know if it's allowed to talk about, but god, it was annoying as hell.
The Lemming
Yep I have seen it too, mostly with monks and blademasters I think. It has been forever since I last saw it though. And as far as the effect goes, I remember it reducing the druration of spells to 0-1 hours. Though I think it was only specific ones.
Tom
Correct, did some testing. Apparently young monks must focus to hold on to any spells on them, and can lose them if they aren't paying attention. They go to 0 hours left.
