Imoutgoodbye
Oh, yes, my children of the night, it's that time again! The Reverend is here to TESTIFY! And I quote from the Aabahranian Bible, verse 1:3 of the Book of Eshaine: "And behold, there is no rule against full-looting. There are a few rules on multi-killing. There are some rules on NOT full-looting." And I say unto you my brothers and sisters, does this anger you? Does this make you happy? Whether you be spittin' fire or raisin' your hands to the heavens or just standin' there, the Reverend has this to say. This passage is perfect. Like all things that are part of Virigoth's creation, it is perfect. Now, you might look at me and say, "But Reverend. I thought you were against full-looting. Have you joined the Dark Side?" No, my brothers and sisters, the Reverend has not gone to the Dark Side. He is here to heal. And how is the Reverend going to heal? HE IS GOING TO TELL EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU THAT YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT FULL-LOOTING! That's right! The Reverend said it. Malchaeius 13:9 says, "Chaos. It is what makes the world go around. It is what makes this world great. These are the ties that bind." And so it is true. BEHOLD THE GLORY OF THE FORSAKEN LANDS! We are few, but we will grow. If we were not passionate about these lands, if we did not have our differences, how would we grow? Every time a newb comes and dies mercilessly over and over and over to some sun burnt elven shaman and comes to these righteous forums, do we all jump on him and tell him to STFU? NO! We all come in with our opinions and views and we put ourselves out there. If you read between the lines, Aabahran, you will find that place of tranquility. A place of learning. A sense of comfort. Now, the Reverend, he knows these forums have rules. And they should not be breached. For it's like the Fifth Circle of Hell here sometimes. We can be the wrathful. But we can also be Purgatory. Or we can be Heaven. Not all rules can be concrete. We need our Chaos. We need our Death. We need our Purity. We can neither function here nor in game without our ideals, our factions. But we all belong together here. We are all united under one banner. Just look in the top left corner of your screen. Blessed be, Aabahran, and good night. Shinth
Valek is right, full looting is fine. It's part of Aabahran, if it wasn't ok, then you wouldn't be able to do it. It's up to you though if you want to full loot someone or not, but blaming people who do it is wrong. Just be grateful when someone else leaves your gear intact. Interesting sermon, very insightful. Aulian
Such a tough topic. Personal views: I dont really care about full looting. I can do it to alot of people and will loose eq now and then - re-equipping is something I find incredibly easy, even the winter/deso/discord things. Personal standpoint: We can play characters (those of us with a bit more experience) that can kill a lot of the pbase, leave them completely naked indefinately and continuously. This is where my problem with full looting comes in. Even if they have a good set.. I dont agree. Another huge personal preference of mine is that if we have an epic fight. Your things remain yours as a token of respect and recognition. Meh. Touchy topic.
Rethrick
Full looting is a pain, but it is a part of life in the lands. I don't do it at all... even if it is a shaman... but I don't get all pissy when it happens.
KRins
Well...my final post ever will be this. There is a reason people will pay through the nose to play the MMORPGs these days. The "work" (I don't know who decided running Deso or the Factions was work) you do isn't necessarily easier in WoW or Diablo or other sorts of MMORPGs than it is here. In fact, I would tend to think that grinding for weeks on end in Diablo 2 for that godly CoA or that Ber rune that drops about once every ladder reset or so is a lot more time consuming then anything will ever be in FL. Is the RP (not the trash talk after a PK which is entirely too prevalent...some people around here like to gloat and talk big on the internet, most likely because they aren't especially effective people in the real world) here great? Yeah. Do people go out of their way to avoid RP to just PK with their powerbuild and their god suit garnered from years of playing here? Easily half the Pbase on 1 char or another. Let's be perfectly honest...most of the time people will full loot when a person has a pretty poor suit, most of the time people will avoid going after the big guns (Triathix has been in the top10 of bounties for about a month), and a lot of things are done to not only hinder the character but to infuriate the player. That's a line that doesn't need to be crossed, at least not by people capable of establishing self-worth without dragging someone else down. Games with a limited number of items and looting are dying, thats a fact. Drop rates are the new wave. All that being said, peace from Ediphel and Keriso. A game that forces me to play so I can keep the weak gear I do know how to find which I would have lost in about 4 seconds anyway because someone decided that ogres who can barely speak should be able to cast an insanely damaging spell that has another crazy effect that they specifically did not choose to have when they didn't go berserker. Upwards of 20 hours a week working a heavy bag and rolling in a BJJ room, a job, a new girlfriend, and not being stunned into near retardation by some of the gigantic loop holes some race/class/cabals can jump through while others are closed takes up too much time. Someone send me a PM when and if actual balance, even halfway decent manners, and the old cabal system is established. Score pages and mastery lists to follow. delfytheelfy
I have ALWAYS been the person who holds these rules about looting. If I need something, I take it. If I own them in the battle, I leave anything I don't need. If it's a close fight and I barely win vs them, I take most of it. Respect flows both ways. If they leave my stuff, I leave their stuff. If it's a vendetta cabled person, and they romp my cable friends often, I take their stuff, and give it to my cabled folks. If you full loot me, cool, my gear mostly sucks anyway. But hey thats FL, It's one of those things that make this place a home away from home. Oh and nice to see you around pali... much <3 to the vets. Imoutgoodbye
You make no sense' date=' at least to me [/quote'] *chuckle* After reading through responses, I wonder if anyone understands, much less likes, what I had to say. KRins, we're not dying. Drop rates might be the new wave, but not here. Most of us do not want to see drop waves. I'd say 80% At no time has anyone forgone RP. Anyone who completely forgoes RP would not have said character for long. I don't know what loop holes or balance issues you see. But I haven't been at 50 for a while. That being said, when I do get there, you can expect I will not be avoiding the likes of Triathix. That's right, I'm coming for you, Triathix! Hahahaha! Mudder
I understood Rev and my whole thing with full looting wasn't to change rules. Keep the rules the same. I merely want the P-base to have the insight and maturity to keep things "classy" and full loot only when necessary or just loot what you need. I just never want to see a "Kill that person, get them naked, then kill them all you can!" type of mentality. Cabal war or not, we are all here to have fun and there is a line to be drawn between RP and absurdity.

I'm right there with you, I feel the same way myself. But when you look across the board and see Myrek, L-A, and anyone else who's agreeing with them, well, it's cool! We need each other if we want to continue to grow. If we lacked these forums, this mud would be dead. We don't all have to agree on everything and that's what's going to keep attracting new players. We're attracting more than one type of player. And they will always fit in here no matter which way they lean on what matter. I've always been a firm believer that these forums are just as important as the game itself.
Aulian
Is it just me or is Krins an incredibly angry person? Lol. I'm done and dusted on teh topic. Looting is part of the game - be ruthless to the vets but kind to teh newbs. My only suggestion. last 2c.
Twinblades713
Yeah KRins, I think you're a pretty good player. I like your rp alot and you seem to contribute to the game. I still think you should stick around. Just maybe grab a stress monkey to punch or squeeze or stab or something. No sarcasm intended. Those things rock.
