Beer?

Saw a de-railed thread that ran into beer.

Personally, I have a friend who makes his own wine and I'm quite fond of his crab apple wine. But only if it's aged at least eight months. I prefer wine, but if I have to have beer....

I have to have Samuel Adams, usually the cherry wheat or honey weisz.

What do YOU like to drink? (and it's okay if you don't like to drink....I drink an average maybe three times a year...it's also cool to just drink Kool-Aid.

If I'm on a budget I usually roll with Coors light. When I want to get a little fancier I'll move to Newcastles. And another step would bring me to Blue Moon draught with an orange slice.

Throughout the drinking process I'll toss in a shot a jager, or whiskey (cheap or expensive but there is a local made one around here that is good as well).

When I'm mixing drinks I have become quite a fan of Bacardi Watermelon, I mean hey you can drink that and coconut rum like they're water.

If I buy a pint bottle to drink before I go out I've been getting McGuillicuddies Fireball. Great for drinking in the shower before you go out, also good while quoting star wars.

For a large bottle I almost always go with Southern Comfort. Grab two large glasses, about 12 or 16 oz work best, and fill one about 4/5 of the way with the Soco. Then fill the rest with Rosie's lime juice. To mix pour from one cup to the other six times (With much testing 6 works best, trust me.) Then pour it out as shots if you wish or drink it straight from the cup.

ENJOY!

My favorite beer is definitely Smitchwick's. But usually at restaurants they only have Killian's or Yeungleng (sp?) which is a pretty good local brew. Mostly I like to go to local breweries and try out their stuff, or if I'm drinking at home/work (the casino) I just have cognac or a jack and coke.

1. Yeungling

2. Guiness (fill you up, though)

3. Coor's Light

and for drinks:

1. Beam and Sour

2. 3-fingers of quality Scotch (Jonnie Walker Blue Lable or better)

3. LIT

I will only drink any other beer if it is done via a beer bong (I am the CHAMP), Keg Stand (1min. 48 sec. is my record and almost passed out), or some other forced induction of alcohol.

All right, one more post before I'm off to work.

In Michigan there's a town called Frankenmuth. It's nicknamed Little Bavaria and in 1990 they started celebrating their own Oktoberfest. The town definitely has that bavarian vibe going, too.

Anyways, they sell a beer that's only available to me from that town.

Anyone ever heard of Hofbrauhaus? I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like liquid gold....I'm going in September. I'm trying it...I WANT IT!

Beer selection in china is terrible, but Harbin is probably their best.

Favorite beer, though, would be Guiness.

Seconded. Guinness tops my chart, though the I use it as a strong foundation of beer rather than an immediate go to. In any area I visit, I like to sample the local brews. But after a long night of exploring, its always nice to be home (guinness).

Natty Light. Yay broke college student...

Also, I hate beer. I am, however, a fan of SoCo and Goldschlager. And whatever cheap scotch Deykari was shoving down my throat in London.

Cheap scotch my ****ing arse! :D

As far as beers go, I drink Sagres, Staropramen (thanks for the introduction, BigMac), Asahi, Peroni Nastro Azzuro, and when on a budget, Fosters or Tsingtao. Sagres is my favourite.

As far as other drinks go, I love scotch (or a cheap scotch and coke if I'm on a night out because it's not as expensive as quality scotch), triple vodka and orange, poor man's black velvet (half pint guiness mixed with half pint of cider) or the traditional student drink, diesel (half pint of cider mixed with half pint of lager, with a shot of blackcurrent juice).

Rethrick, I too am an undefeated bottle bonging champion. ;) As far as keg stands go though, I cannot drink very large quantities of alcohol so I'd likely be a dead man. :D

I can beer bong with the best of em, and I can shotgun like a champ. But my true skill lies in the fact that I can chug a beer right out of the can nearly as fast as you can bong/shotgun em. We play a game here were you set out three beers, you have someone time you starting from the time you crack one beer, and you go through all three. You need to crack the next as your drinking the first and down the line. I have it down to under a minute for all three. Sadly I am quite large, I'm still at weight for semi-pro football, so I'm usually not the one doing the keg stand I'm the one holding the people up.

America can't brew beer to save their lives, at least on the large scale. It's just mass produced swill. Microbreweries have good stuff, Shiner is good but is brewed in Texas for Texas, same with Ziegen. Leinenkugel's is from I think Wisconsin, and it's delicious.

My favorites aaaaaaaare:

Belhaven Scottish Ale

Leinenkugel's

Chimay ale

Shiner Bock

Blue Moon is good

Pyramid

Guinness/Irish Car Bombs

For liquor:

Crown on the rocks

Jack on the rocks

Sailor Jerry's and Captain Morgan's spiced rum

Everclear and lemonade

I used to do shots. Now not so much... or ever, really. One in the last 3 or 4 years. If I'm drinking something, I'm doing so because I enjoy the taste. When I was able to stomach straight liquor, it was whiskey and I took my time with it. (however, I can't even touch the stuff anymore.)

But, Gin in Tonics are my choice as of late. It's "my regular" at the local pub. I can now, honestly say I have a regular. And they know how to mix it correctly for my tastes.

Other drinks? I'll drink the sissy-girly drinks. Because they taste good. If it's a hot summer day, and I'm out with friends on a redneck beach (sitting in lawn chairs around a kiddie pool), I'll enjoy a Sex on the Beach. I had something called a Greatful Dead awhile... I haven't got a clue as to what is in it but it sure did some damage that I was not expecting. (Thank you, WC, for driving that night). I've since learned that it is imperative that you know what they tender is putting in your drink. "Hey, just try it, you'll like it. It's not that strong." is the same thing as, "You never get high your first time." Lies. All lies.

I haven't heard that saying before...and I got real high my first time.

Quite often the first weed someone smokes is crappy, or they don't know how to smoke and screw up taking the hit, or sometimes they just don't know what being stoned is like and don't recognize it but think instead they've got a headache or sinus pressure.
