goldbond
hey did anyone see this fight? i had JUST got off work and straight to the bar and the decision had already been made 5 minutes before and everyone was all "omg Jackson really won blah blah blah, etc etc..." to anyone who saw the fight, is that what you felt? did Griffin give him any sort of beatdown? it's too too often a bout goes the whole 5 rounds. Tantangel
Best way to find out is by checking youtube out over the next few weeks. Easiest way to do it anymore and was really the only way I caught Brock Lesnar in his first two fights. His first fight was put on within a day or so and his second one there was a blogish of someone doing a play by play of it within a few hours. Didn't realize that fight was so soon though, thought that was still a week away.
myrek
My personal scoring: Rnd 1: Rampage: 10-9 Rnd 2: Griffin 10-8 maybe 10-7 Rnd 3: Griffin 10-9 Rnd 4: Rampage 10-9 Rnd 5: Griffin 10-9 My question for any UFC fans is about scoring. One of the earlier fights went to decision. One of the refs scored the fight 30-28. How is that possible? I thought you could only give one fighter 10 pts per round. myrek
yeah, it was truly the meeting of an unstoppable force (Rampage's gigantic fists) and an immovable object (Griffin's head).

Shaun
Griffin clearly won the fight... Although Rampage took the first round, Griffin controlled the entire fight, and was the aggressor, including all of his submission attempts. Rampage even said that Griffin "whooped his ***". HBwillie
The round winner gets 10 pts no matter what. His opponent 9 or less, dependent on how much he gets dominated. You won't see a 10-7 round. In my professional opinion, I feel Griffin won the fight hands down. Forrest won three of the five rounds, with one of them I scored 10-8. Griffin hurt Rampage in the first round with chopping leg kicks and it showed in the second. It was a while before Jackson could even put weight back on it. Anoneemus
The round winner gets 10 pts no matter what. His opponent 9 or less' date=' dependent on how much he gets dominated. You won't see a 10-7 round.[/quote'] That's the point. If the judge felt he won 3 rounds 10-9, it would be 30-27. If he won two rounds that way it could be 29-28. But 30-28 means one of the rounds was scored 10-10. I've never heard of that happening, and didn't realize it was even possible. Maybe the announcer just misspoke. myrek
The possible 10-10 round wasn't the Rampage-Griffin fight. It is very possible that it was a typo. I seriously would have considered docking Rampage 3 points for the second round. He was on his back getting punched for 80% of the round. No control, no aggression, no fight.
