Imoutgoodbye
I, along with quite a few other idiots who still uses Microsoft's free updates, DL'ed their newest ones. One is an update for their malware security, which I don't even use. However, upon downloading this and after a lengthy conversation with my cable company, found out that the DL interferes with certain firewalls and blocks internet connectivity. So, after realizing some things last night, I couldn't fix them before I went to work. Thank god for system restore, as I remembered this morning. f0xx
Well, after all, the safest way to protect yourself from internet viruses is to block your internet connection
Deykari
Isn't that the theory behind Norton AntiVirus? We do an extremely effective job of stopping your computer from acquiring virii by way of hogging so many system resources your computer won't actually allow you to open any other applications. a-guitarist
Are you talking about XP or Vista? Because I just got the XP download.... a-g
Dizz
I use AVG. It works and it's free! I am so sick and tired of Mcaffee, Norton and Zonealarm. You pay all that money and it doesn't work any better than the free one. AVG also doesn't hog resources, which I love.
Rensvert
It would be the XP download, not Vista. While I do not care for either of these operation systems very much I have but one word for everyone... MAC!!!

Calron
Norton will slow your computer down more than most viruses . All of their antivuris software (even moreso Norton 360) has such an enormous amount of overhead that it actually makes a very noticeable difference on your computer's run and load time for other applications. Whether or not Dey was kidding - he is basically right. Norton takes up so many system resources that it will clog up your computer. I would suggest getting AVG. Its free, works very well, and doesn't mess up your computer more than it helps.
Deykari
What Calron said. ESET NOD32 is also very good too, however I don't think they have a free version anymore. I preferred that over AVG personally. Dey
Evangelion
STUPID MS BULL**** Microsoft is proud to announce its newest application for daily computing, MSBull**** 2008. Complimentary with Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista (because we just skipped one and went straight to two, knowing we'd need them both), this program will allow you to fulfill the void in your computer's soul by hogging all those extra resources that were just sitting around doing nothing. Got 4 gigabytes of RAM and only a few programs to run simultaneously? Run MSBull****, and it will slow you back down in no time. Got that new Nvidia top-of-the-line video card, and no graphics-intensive games to play? Load up Runescape and run MSBull**** - it will have your computer working just like it did ten years ago. So go to www.microsoft.com/MSBull**** today, and download your copy. Don't thank us now. Don't thank us ever.
