Imoutgoodbye
As the Reverend sits here, he ponders all these new changes that are coming. He's listening to Cemetary Gates by Pantera. Quite possibly one of his all time favorite songs. No, my Brothers and Sisters of Aabahran, the Reverend isn't going anywhere. But this may possibly be the most important sermon he'll ever give. No shouting. No screaming. No taking anyone to the learning tree, breaking off a branch, dusting it off, turning it sideways, and sticking it up anyone's roody poo candy ***. This is something plain and simple, something the Reverend doesn't even need the Aabahranian Bible for. In real life, the Reverend rarely steps foot inside a church building. He'll be a baptized Lutheran before the year is over, but he has never believed that a building is what makes a church or someone standing up in front of a congregation has the end-all be-all of answers. If that was the case, there never would have been a split from the Catholic church. So, you might be wondering, what do the Catholic and Lutheran churches have to do with FL? Has the Reverend gone off his rocker? No, no, the Reverend is not off his rocker. He's going to try and tackle the most serious issue at the heart of all this change. The Rift. It exists right here on the forums, so it lies within the heart of every member of the player base, whether they know it or not. Whether they are passionate about it or not. Whether they agree with one side or not. Even if that Brother or Sister were to stand aside and do nothing, they have taken a position. The Reverend has always felt like he was part of a family here. You got your older brother picking on your younger brother, big sister keeping an eye on the younger ones, the younger ones looking up to and trying to be as good as big brother/big sister. Anyway you look at it, we're practically family here. FL is the tie that binds. We've always been here for each other. We've watched each other grow as people. There's always going to be personalities that clash. Such is human nature. Like anyone will make decisions they will regret at some point in their life in some way. If we want to extend this family, if we want keep this mud going, we need to buckle down and grow up. Set aside our differences. Our standings on this forum and in the game, are, you know what? Imaginary. Alter-egos. Nothing more. When the Reverend steps away from his computer, he's just plain old David Zimmerman II. I go to work like everyone else. I pay bills like everyone else. I'll be a father in a few months. I'm a husband to my wife come Friday. There's no reason for us to get down on any of the new players and say , "Do this like I did it." There's a poll that shows great dissatisfaction with the full looting and the learning curve. I appreciate what was. I always will. This will always be FL. We've just figured out a way to cultivate newer players and level the playing field out some. Don't worry. You'll still get to stomp on the Reverend. He'll have a Hardcore character 9/10 times. Guaranteed. But the old way, we've stuck to it. We've gathered a few players. But mostly we have remained stagnant. In the Reverend's heart, he feels a little piece of him dying. He's always been huge on Tradition. It was something that comes from my alma mater. Tradition, Pride, and Teamwork. So, please, my final sermon is more a plea. Let's set aside any hard feelings of the past and walk towards the future, together. Blessed be, Reverend Valek
Mali
I really don't want to start a religious debate here, but Martin luther's work was a foundation of nazi idealogy.

Imoutgoodbye
It's funny how many people don't know how anti-Semetic he was... *sigh* At the risk of de-railing this thread from it's purpose, I know. I'm just a firm believer in the "man is fallible" passage. I take the positives and try to improve on the negatives.
