Rethrick
I was not meaning he was not cool, I am just not a fan of pirates. Sorry if anyone thinks I am a horrible person for it
Imoutgoodbye
heh...I'm not big on pirates, either, but the clip was highly interesting, especially to someone who's an avid writer and almost got pushed into majoring in English.
a-guitarist
I rank the current pirate fad right up there with those who cry about "the impending zombie apocalypse", LARP, and call themselves otaku. Sure, they may be nice people. But... they can be nice away from me. a-g

a-guitarist
Of course I am. Any of you who do those things are quite far from me. And this way, I can still feel like a cool person. "Freaking Nerds... I don't play games with Nerds!" and then, I look from a distance and pretend everyone here are the captains of their Football teams, have 20 girlfriends, and make six figures a year. If you didn't catch it (internet and sarcasm and all), my posts in this thread have been pretty sarcastic. I have friends who make a living running LARP campaigns for WoD at their store (Their customers do scare me, though). My friends who run the local open mics are big into the current Pirate Fad (I don't understand it, yes, it pisses me off often, but they're okay people) and work at Renn Faires. The Zombie people? I can deal with it if I don't have to spend an hour in a car with one of them talking about something I don't rightly care about. You can only politely ask anyone a few times to shut up before you get pissy. (My Store owner-Larp runner friends are just like this. I'd still drive them to hell and back if they needed it.) The only thing I won't associate with are those Otaku mouth-breathers. They are plum scary. Same goes for anyone that automatically associates "Japan" with "Cool" because it's arbitrary closeness to Ninjas (where the whole Japan thing started in the 80's... It's my theory, I'm working on it still. Anyone interested in funding the research, please get ahold of me. Research usually involves large amounts of Gin, Tonic, and Limes) a-g Sarcasm: Do you speak it?
