Is it just me, or does there seem to be a lack of players lately?

I've got two pinns, and I'm *lucky* if I can find someone to go pk with. It seems, whenever I log on, one of two things happens.

a) There's just nobody in my range that I'd have an RP justification to PK.

The one or two people I do have RP backing to go PK just log off or run as soon as I enter the area - and I'm by no means a powerhouse of a pker.

It seems like we've gone from having around 20 people almost all the time, to now having around 12 on average.

What's the deal? Where are all you guys?!

I can say one thing about b.

Everyone keeps saying, "If you don't want to get PKed, get off." "If you die, you did something wrong, and should have logged off."

This leads to the extreme paranoia that I and others have built up over the years. Some people are now LOGGING OFF instead of doing anything else. Especially if you or any other person with a next to their name pops into our areas unannounced.

I think it's because FL isn't very attractive to new players. It's a game that takes a long time to get good at, and nobody knows to ask for help IG/IC because, frankly, nobody tells them to IG. Newbie Chat is a huge help for newer players I think, but you're only allowed to answer certain questions to a certain extent, and personally I don't see it being used a whole lot anyway.

The solution is very simple. In order to see more players, you have to attract them to play.

I haven't seen much of a change, high or low, in about a year. I think at the moment it's slightly better than it has been past few months.

I can definitely say I've noticed on my last two caballed characters that most people don't seem to want to fight. They might stick around for a little while, and if things don't go their way, they log. This isn't intended as a brag because it's not as if they had no chance, it just seems people are more inclined to avoid conflict nowadays. Why not go play Lineage if you hate PK so much?

It is because all the hard-asses on the forums espouse that if they kill you they will strip you naked just because they can. This, obviously, runs off new players...as well as giving people the "I will just log rather than lose hours of work" mentality.

I unfortunately have been unable to play the pass couple of weeks, which should spice up the 50's range... unless I get distracted by a new project I am considering.
