Kyzarius
I asked this in another thread, but in the spirit of not hijacking I will post it here. I saw an interview with John McCain where he was asked if he used PC or mac, in so many words his response was "ohhh...Im illertate when it comes to computers, I cant even use one, my wife does all of that for me" any opinions on this? a-guitarist
I'd say that's typical of someone his age. However, as long as he doesn't use his total lack of knowledge on the subject to pass laws that regulate technology (specifically computer/internet related) without the express consent of a handful of *REAL* experts, then I've got no problem with it. And by real experts, I don't mean some fundamentalist christian who learned HTML by the HTML for Dummies books, a high school administrator that just mastered checking his email, or anyone that get's paid a assload for agreeing with him. a-g

KRins
I can't in good faith vote for either major canidate simply because they have both done or said grossly stupid things. Dizz
Bush makes me sick and McCain is his crony. What makes me sadder is McCain is my senator. It just seems like Bush is bent on making life as difficult as possible for whoever gets elected to replace him.
WarriorCleric
I can't stand either option from the two big parties. Lack of knowledge on a particular subject doesn't bother me as much when they openly admit it. After all the it's not like every president we've had has been an expert on every task. That's why they have advisers, the hope is that a president open enough to admit that he knows little on a subject, and I believe this subject is more important than any previous administration has seen it, will be a president who will surround himself with the best advisers he can get. But then, if they don't know anything about computers how will they know the best advisers? Eh, tough call, but I don't think anyone goes to school to learn about how to handle governmental sized debts, and we expect every president to manage ours. If McCain gets in, here's hoping for a good tech advisers. I'm not a political expert, but in my amateur opinion Bush seems to think because he's president he's also right and uses that reasoning to back/push laws that are just ****ing dumb. I don't think Obama and McCain are that stupid, however I don't think that they are the correct choice. I'm doing a write in as well. WC
Imoutgoodbye
I'm voting Obama. Sorry, guys, I need health insurance I can afford that almost every hospital/doctor/etc... has to take. I'm well aware of the drawbacks to a "socialized" health care. I actually have a somewhat simple plan to fix the economy. It starts with not paying CEO's, Doctors, etc....so much money. To make things easier on these people, we have to kill the huge costs it takes for them to receive degrees. I have firmly believed that the cost of the education (while large) does not directly entitle them to such large amounts of money....ummm....I'm lost all of a sudden...where am I? Because CEOs and Doctors just spend all week on their yachts doing nothing except plotting how to destroy the poor and screw the economy. It's not like Doctors actually specialize, and pay extrodinarily high costs for insurance, and it's not like CEOs bare the weight and responsibility of the entire company. And clearly if we pay them half the money they make it will magically fix the economy, because all our economy's ills are because certain job titles make lots of money. Our problem is all the fact that one class is providing for both tiers. The middle class pays for the poor lower class AND rich upper class. We need to stop giving major corporations huge tax breaks....

WarriorCleric
Ohh, yes, the evil socialized healthcare. It's a miracle I'm still alive living in "one of those" countries. I'm glad that the FL community sees the issue as a black and white, because it's not possible that there are vary degrees that factor into this. Because every country is the same, with the same makeup of people, and the same spending, same expectations of service. No one is saying that we should pass on socialized health care in the US because it's evil, and all you do by sprouting off retorts like that is continue the ignorance of it all. If I wanted to use the same broad brush to talk on this topic, so I'd paint over all the fine lines that define the big picture, I'd use the idealist color. It's a lovely shade, it makes it absolutely impossible to see the other side of the coin. The best part is people on both sides use it, especially when they have nothing useful to say. Instead I'll sit it out and heckle from the stands. I've lived without health care, for a long time, I now live under a public health care system. Neither are all tea and crumpets. Bah, Liberals, a bunch of under educated romantics with no understanding of the world! Bah, conservatives, what a bunch of heartless money mongers with no understanding of people!
