TALE OF THE PALADIN

I stand here a knight so bold and brave,

I felt I was righteous, since I was a knave.

Defending the young, the poor, and the weak

From all that oppress, with a malevolent streak.

I charge in to battle, with the wrath of my God,

Then after stand triumphant, with a smile and nod.

Evil and hatred have no place in this world,

As long as around my sword hands are curled.

My sheath is nigh useless for there is work to be done.

Villains and wretches at the sight of me run.

But on my goliath, I steadfast pursue,

Until those who hurt are all by me, slew.

The blessings of He, upon all who love.

Kind as an embrace, soft as a dove.

But turn away as much as you like,

For those unfaithful retribution will strike.

The champion of all that is unlike I am,

A Dark Knight approaches, his soul be damned.

A battle rages, future decided,

Will hope prevail, or be simply derided?

Bodies worn, torn and bruised as the antitheses fight.

They call on their Gods to unleash their might.

A blinding flash and one man stands tall,

Behind his one God who was there through it all.
