Iusedtobesomebody
Violate RP or constantly starve? Hrmmm, tough choice.

Nightmare_from_hell
It might be hard playing the goodie right now, but isn't that what this whole rp'ing thing is about? Just because the plot makes it a little more challenging for certain chars/aligns/whathaveyou, shouldn't mean you run for the hills and hide. The whole reason for an RP plot is for you to... oh you guessed it, RP! Now that's cool and all if you run over to the darkside to RP the loyal fanatic and such, but just because you have to be a bit more cautious and might have to work harder as a goodie? Not something that will influence my in-game operations, that's for sure. To each his/her own, but when it comes to these plots, I would rather be playing for the underdog side and have a reason to log in every day and be fun by being challenging. Deykari
Sure, I completely understand what you're saying. It's only a minor gripe by all accounts, and what can we expect? We failed to stop this happening, so this is what happens to us. It's just, not so much fun when you recall to your temple to find... (end of the log) A torment's life drain DISMEMBERS you! You have been KILLED!! Somehow you are spared the loss of your experience! As the cold chill of death descends upon you YOUR DIETY grants you yet another chance. You have been granted a temporary sanctuary as an invincible ghost. As long as you don't attack anything. You feel less healthy. I would have 0% problem if 'marked' evils got something bad happening to them to balance it out. Dey
Iusedtobesomebody
buwhahaha. it's a game mechanic that's pissing me off, not just because it's 'tougher' or 'more challenging'. anyone who's been here long enough knows I am all for rp (having ran an 8 month quest that's probably the most remembered in FL). ythe food issue is a great idea, and I have no problem with the concept or idea. what I do have a problem with is the severity of it's affects. I am very limited to my time I can play, and spending over half my time per day just trying not to starve is crazy. and i'm a player since early 1.0 who understands what's going on! how would a brand new player react to it? Mali
They give up their eternal soul to a demon. Thats all fine and well when the going is good. But when those gates are closed, all these fools will be marked. Then what is going to happen??? It won't be pretty.
EyeSeeU
Thats what I was thinking myself, the "mark" can't be all smooth sailing! Or else it wouldn't be the "mark" of the "DEMON LORD".
HouselessRogue
It has one obvious negative effect from the moment you are marked.
Icor
If Malch' designed this plot, he must know a lot about Revelations. Too many awesome similarities. I love it.
Ali_gmud
Honestly, now is not the time to be playing a good. Unless you like being a corpse. Three active Demons, two active Undead, one (now potentially two) active Vamps, and a boat load of torments that will attack anyone 'unmarked' (that naturally a good isn't going to do)? Yeah, I think I'll pass. Dey I love being on the loosing team it's alot more fun I find. I was fighting Jhaerek at level 30 and did you guys know there was a portal there as well - I was fighting jhaerek and then two torment cames in and caned me I got away on the lowest hp... they give me a good 350xp each one.. so I'm not complaining
Ali_gmud
I changed my mind on what I said about the torments they are soo anoying they're the reason why I log out to play other games half the time. The daytimes are soo short and I only have very little wandering around without fully ravaged by torments. I got fully prepared to fight a certain dk I saw him, charged at him, then lost 500 hp before I even made it to him, not to mention the bastards gave away my position. Guest emp_newb
Anyone else notice the enormous number of invokers popping up? I think we have an army of vokers runnig aorund just to deal with these torments.

ajwetton
Paladins do wonders vs the Torments. Have yet to see one of those die. Yes but Pali's are considered a hybrid class mixing Melee/spells So if "corrupted" they can still melee them and actually do some good damage to them. Try doing it as a healer or something thats not so melee able against them and having not as many defenses as a pali either. They can and DO screw over most of the true communer classes. Questioner
I think there is a shoutout to Valadar from a paladin. If it was a paladin, they lost around 500hp just trying to reach Valadar from one side of the city. But I could be wrong.
Iusedtobesomebody
I used to rank clerics off the torments' counterparts.
