Iusedtobesomebody
Except they were to begin with, then Viri changed them. Then I complained so much, Iru changed it back. You're welcome. Edit: Forgot the smiley at the end.
Mudder
Lol. I was Sirican at the time it was changed. I was NOT happy. Honestly? I makes it wayyy too easy for a Cleric to own a Vamp. I was almost killed by a level 47 cleric! (Yes, I was decked.)
Iusedtobesomebody
It is... situational. All depends on the vamp.
Grosek_
Yes. (Think the guy deleted around rank 40 ) Paint me surprised, I must have missed that one. I guess you covered all the bases, so I am just going to peter out at this point. ::tail between legs:: ::shuffle off::
myrek
boo hoo. I been on the receiving end and i've taken out full groups while they were ranking. it's part of the HARSH and VIOLENT world we play in. you will die. you will die by people above and below your rank. you will die with shabby gear. you will die in the best gear. if I have an RP reason (which falls into either GOLD' date=' GEAR or GLORY) to kill someone, guess what? I will attack whether you are ranking, sleeping, sitting RPing, lower rank, higher rank, unequipped, fully equipped, on the toilet, whatever. it's called pay attention and use the 'where' command frequently.[/quote'] This is one of the best posts I've seen in ages. I can only add one thing. There are four reasons to kill someone: gold, gear, glory, and self-preservation. I will kill you so that you can't kill me. If I believe that you have a reason to kill me, I have a reason to kill you. The best way to beat a fully equipped necro at 50 is to condeath them at 20. But you're not allowed to do that, so you better start kicking their *** as soon as you can. I wouldn't have even noticed this thread if my trashiness hadn't been brought up. I played Llyros correctly. I attacked my enemies and suffered the consequences. That's the way every character should play if they're in a clan, cabal, or certain religions. Once you pick sides in the war, fight. You have to consider the "trashy" character's position before you start name calling. I had a thief get lamented on the forum for being trashy. Why? I was ranking, PK's entered the area, I said "Leave or die", they said "Piss up a rope", they died. That's fair RP, right? They came back. They're still the same threat they were before. Rinse. Repeat. Rinse. Repeat. They cried to the IMMs. I got in trouble. Bullcrap. Good RP would have for them to be scared of the thief and either kill him or avoid him like we used to avoid Crypty when he was irritable. I don't know what defines trashy. It has been over used by people who have died. I think it has lost its meaning through abuse. If you want to increase interest in FL, drop the "the game starts at 50" mentality. That is a daunting task for a newbie. Give them some bite sized goals. >ding< Your two cents have expired.

I attacked my enemies and suffered the consequences. Myrek. I urge you to actually read what I wrote about Llyros. I did not call you trashy. I think Llyros was very well played and a beast in his day. I was only making the point that the "way we play the game" these days as compared to 1.0 has changed considerably. I was saying that if Llyros lived in the current MUD and acted the exact same toward pre-pinn 50s he would be considered trashy or told by the Imms to give them a break. Not congratulated and cheered. My whole point was that the whole enviroment has changed and people should not even compare 1.0 with 3.0.
myrek
I understand that you are saying that Llyros was not trashy by 1.0 standards... just trashy by 3.0 standards. If attacking your enemy is trashy by any standards, let me know now. I'd hate to waste my time rolling up a character that will be trash.

A Poet's Blade
I am pretty sure the term 'trashy' comes down to who uses it. If I kill Mudder and full loot, he may call me trashy because when I found him he was hurt, RPing with an IMM, low on moves, running from someone else, or what have you. I did not kill him by his standards so I am trash. In the same instance, if I attack Mudder while he is hurt and someone of his cabal attacks me and I die, I COULD call it a trashy gang. Will I? Depends to be honest. If I run and they give chase and the two chase me together all over, then Mudder was no longer hurt and was just acting like garbage. The point I am trying to make is its all situational. Everyone and I mean EVERY SINGLE PLAYER IN THIS GAME has been called trash, has called someone else trash, has gang-banged and accused others of gang-banging. So...why do it if its hated so much? Or, if it happens so often, its the norm and get used to it.
Mudder
While your right, the term trashy is incredibly situational. I feel I have defined it with such precision that all, or most, can agree what is or is not trashy. Lol. In otherwords, i'm perfect.

Nekky
I think Virigoth was once known to have said words to this effect: "You become trash when you stop caring about your character, and do things that no one would ever do." He cited as examples things like spamming deaths on a temple healer, dying and unghosting after 2 seconds and suiciding on the same character who just killed you, totally ignoring your own RP, and other things like that. I think the examples of ganging and the like may be instances of general player arse-holery, or demonstrating a lack of class or pride. But whether you want to call it trash or not depends on the player and the situation.
Pracyntict
Now' date=' you are assuming I've not spoken with him and Crypticant. I have.[/quote'] I don't recall any such conversation. But it could have been ages ago. And I could have been drunk. Very likely. He had' date=' at least that I am counting, eleven other vampires though I cannot name them to save my life. One was adv'ed to 50 for the sake of testing something[/quote'] Incorrect. Viri had two Vampires, total. One on AR was Toroth. The only other vampire of note on AR was Sethanon Tzimsce, played by the AR immortal Coven. Viri's vampire on FL was Gorath and he killed more people than cancer, but not as many as Maleki, who, to my understanding, still holds the PK record of level 50's (at over 200). If we ever advanced characters to 50 for test purposes, it was nearly always on the test port, with the only exceptions being Crusaders and Druids, which we did not use to PK with. The five of the first one came from AR and would spank my and call me Sally' date=' so I was given a tool to spank back a little.[/quote'] That's simply not how we operated after beta. Pre beta? Sure, we beat each other silly all the time with advanced 50 characters. After beta, we didn't hand out any special races or classes without extremely good reason. Definitely never to "spank back". Iusedtobesomebody
The question of 'how many kills?' is irrelevant. the question of "how many deaths?" is much more important. Just about anyone (including Dey) can have lots of kills if played long enough. The ratio must be looked at to judge correctly. Triple digit kills and sub 5 deaths is SO much more impressive, than a ton of kills for kills sake. EDIT: Oh, and Viri had one more vampire late 2.0 which only a few peeps knew it was him. Grosek_
Eh, the frustration I had was the going dk lvl 1 to vamp lvl 50 in 2-3 days. But I guess with superior RP and PK, anything was possible, however. I really shouldn't even be talking about this, my memory is too fallible to be credible at this point.
