Twinblades713
Malch opens his rift to God (Sirant) and his demon horde... and Aelleor and Dirmin try to close it. Elves come including Tuo and the High Guardian. There is a bit of fighting, but it is quashed. Aelleor throws the orb into the rift to close/destroy it. Then Anume turns on Malchaeius and aids Aelleor in sustaining the power of the orb, Valadar helps as well. The rift is shut and Malchaeius is -pissed-. The skies brighten and the torments and plague rats leave. The sun shines brightly. Happytime happytime.
KRins
Are you serious? Can I finally come back and play again without ripping out my hair when I see "you are hungry" and I'm miles from any beer distribution center? I can actually consider reequiping since the torments won't be raping me into submission with my mithril and sharp glaive?

A Poet's Blade
So did anything happen to the peeps that sold their soul for safety?
Nekky
That's what I was thinking. It'd be nice if there was some negative repercussions, at least for the people who weren't followers of Malchaeius who sold-out their own gods for the convenience of having the torments on their side. A Poet's Blade
Exactly. You'd think failing the Demon God and ruining his plans for whatever he had planned would be deserving of punishment....

Will there be a log of this? PS. I find it quite strange how everyone is more fond of not having torments anymore than the RP itself...
English lad
The RP does sound like it was awesome - but i think its a measure of how much of a negative impact the torments had that people more relieved about them than anything else. Questioner
If anything, I felt the torments added to the chaos described by people from the 1.0 era. Where people would be gangbanged all the time, taking advantage of the weak and using every possible way to get the upperhand. I enjoyed having the torments around because on my characters I had to actually know what time it was, where I was, who was in the vicinity, do I know their intentions, am I prepared to fight them off or survive? It brings a certain realism to the "Forsakenlands". The world is not a perfect circle. Not everyone can have their happy time at the expense of taking away someone else's happiness. Just play the game. It isn't meant to be easy, hard, or predictable. That is what makes muds so much different from games like mass effect and world of warcraft. The realism brought to the table by combining the talent of players and the moderators creates a game where anything is possible in a world bordering on real. Malchaeius
To those who had fun these past several months, I am glad you enjoyed it. To those who had a miserable time, I sincerely apologize. To those who enjoy being involved, keep your eyes peeled for smaller player-centric plots/events. To those who hate being 'forced' to participate in a plot, I promise you that I will never run a large-scale plot again. I will be editting the logs that I have and putting them up for those who are curious to what occured.

Malchaeius
No. It is nothing like that. I just came to the realization that we have a diverse group of players who play for different reasons. The work versus reward for doing one of these things just did not even out for me – it may even out for other staff members, and I will give them all of the aid that they need. Some players do not like to be forced to react to their gaming world - some enjoy a more passive gaming experience. In trying to make the world feel alive, and everyone feel a part of the history, I only succeeded in alienating a portion of the playerbase. Thus, I had an epiphany. The most prudent solution was the simplest one – player-centric instead of global-centric.
