You are absolutely right. What separated Kentry and Calandra? The knew what they were doing' date=' they had the skills to back it up. Just because Calandra could outmelee warriors, doesn't mean every ninja can. Calandra could because the player knew how to take advantage of ninja skills. And furthermore, ninjas can outmelee warriors today if played right.[/quote']
He doesnt lie. WTF is up with ninja's ability to melee lol.
~Berzerkers~
Nomak - you clearly have no idea about berserkers. None at all. Roll one, head to lvl 50 and don't play any other character for 6 months and MAYBE you'll start to get a clue.
Everything Nekky says is quite true - while berserkers look great on paper, when it comes down to it all the melee classes own you as well has the hybrids with the sole exception of paladins.
Communers are hard to to - VERY hard to kill. 2/3 berserkers cannot use haymaker in vs communer battles. Headbutt is useless unless you're overcommitted, raged and need them to flee because you cannot.
Anyone you fight often will quickly wise up and get burnproof weapons and shields making cleave less than useless.
To have any hope at lvl 50 you have to play like a warrior making full use of weapon selection. Failure to do this will see you dead.
Crypticant said it best:
'After lvl 30 berserkers are no longer berserkers, they are warriors with less defenses'
L-A
Agreed.

You're missing the point. Not only were they extremely skilled players, but they also had abilities that no longer exist and eq that no longer exists in the same state. Kentry could throw 1000+ damage a round unraged (and did so to me plenty a time). That's flat impossible for a modern zerk no matter the cabal choice or eq. Calandra was Conclave, and had those abilities. No modern ninja does. My entire point is simply that Kentry is not a valid example of how zerks can do, because zerks now are not what zerks then were, and neither are the other classes now what they were then.
There is something fundamentally wrong with an argument, if it has to go back five years to find a character which supports it, and even then only tenuously.

I believe I was the first to mention Kentry.
And I was saying THESE ARENT THE DAYS OF KENTRY.
So im not sure what argument thats supposed to be supporting?
Raarg was thinking along the lines of, "Kentry did it. It's still possible today."
I'm pretty sure anyone that knows the game supports a Zerker beef-up.
I know they need one. They're not even fun to play... People just use you as an EQ pile.
Yeah, to be honest I find Zerks one of the least of my worries as just about any class aside from maybe small races without protective shield and even then I'll probably outdamage them. Sure they're fun to play up until around lvl 30, but aside from that they're posers unless you're a Minotaur Zerk in which case you can just charge death people assuming you're fast enough. Otherwise it'd be just as useless. I think the last decently well played one that I was around for at least was the one in Watcher I think it was played by Sneak but not sure. The only real reason why he was any good was the fact that he was Minotaur and he was decked and dualing two axes known for high melee output which made him decently hard to fight. Other than that though I have never had a problem with them at 50 just always pre-30's.
Yes, I hated that watcher mino zerk. Even with all healer protections up, he still managed to get me down to way past half health. ![]()
He was named Statham and he used to play only before an year.He is good example that modern berserkers are not underpowered.

Chortle
Just out of a WEE bit of interest? Werent you trying to tell us that shamans were a wee bit under powered too... Sorry, no slant on you... But I'm quite sure shamans are fine and beserkers are not.
Actually he was saying that DROW shamans are underpowered... not shamans as a whole, but that is another subject.
cough Covus? cough
Do not give me examples with heroes that had gear for +leveling of maledictions and refer to the topic, please.

Then do not think that someone able to spam minotaur charges is an example of zerks being solid.
Well Okay I give up,you win.Berskers are underpowered and they need one hit kill skill ;P

Im sorry but you're allowed to use past characters and im not? Even to make the SAME point? Lol.
Secondly if anyone should be listened to its L-A if you ask me. I can only tell you from how I beat them. He has actually had some success in playing them.

Um, no. He was named Akranere. ![]()
Yeah thats a name I recognise ![]()
Well Okay I give up' date='you win.Berskers are underpowered and they need one hit kill skill ;P[/quote']
Boo silly boy.... they ARE underpowered, but noone is saying that they need the one hit kill skill.... if you ask me, trying to cleave and failing, while not knowing wether you fail becuase your skill failed, or you fail because your opponent is using undestructable weapon is nonsense.... also haymaker being blocked by shields used by classes who don't even have shield block... WTF man?
And you tell me this is right? Of course it is not
Jeez, you just told me that you recently killed a zerker while you were naked and you STILL say they are OK as they are...
Also I saw somewhere a suggestion to make haymaker dependable ot saves... if haymaker is to be dependable on something it is to be AC, not saves...
