brsingr
which are you? who are you voting for? why? be honest, but try to avoid flamefests. I, personally, would vote for obama if i could. i have many reasons, but the stupidity of palin would be enough in and of it's self.
Zrothum
I consider myself an independant......I swing more the republican side usually though. However, if I vote (I'm 23 and havent ever...dont care to) I'll vote for Obama
Guest emp_newb
Obama sounds great, unless you are a small business owner in ANY manufacturing type. My boss easily clears the 250k a year mark right, so he also has to pay out wages, and materials for all that, on top of normal taxes, so he might pull out 100 a year after it is all said and done. Obama would tax the **** out of him because he clears that mark. Not fair at all. Ralph Nader. Not so much that I like him but that I hate him the least. brsingr
meh... The thing with most americans is that we vote for who is best for us personally. Not so much for other people (like small business owners). though, it occurs to me that my cousin's head shop will be run into the ground by obama's taxing thing. inscribed
mccain/palin wins, i call it. i've called the last 3 elections successfully, so my word is law! i'm not that big a fan of mccain, but obama just sucks. americans will never consciously accept socialism, but they'll damn sure be spoon fed it little by little until our government is indistinguishable from socialism. people are stupid. brsingr
obama has my concerns in mind... I think that some people who would normally vote for mccain might just stay home because of the whole second bush thing. this is sort of a vocal sort of thing, so forgive me if i look dumb and fail to get across my message, as often happens here. Actually, It doesn't particularly matter to me, as I'm leaving, though i would be rather happy if the US decided to stop trying to be the world police, because that affects me regardless of where i live. Did i tell any of you that my mom is deploying to iraq in 4 days? she's a captain in the army, flies apache helicopters.

f0xx
Make this a poll perhaps? Being an European I am quite interested in foreign politics, USA's especially. At another poll in another game I play Obama wins by a mile. I also have this: http://iftheworldcouldvote.com/.
Celerity
Obama or McCain? Obama by a longshot, but he is still far from anything I'd actually like! more taxes + more programs = bigger government = smaller people

HouselessRogue
All politicians suck. None of them have any idea what it is like to be a normal person and a normal person could never be president solely because they don't have all the money and endorsements (yeah, that's right.. I said it) it takes to be elected. If they work their way up from local government to state to federal - by the time they get to the presidential level they have lost all touch with what the normal people need or want. Besides most of them tell you whatever seems popular and most of them don't do what they say after elected. I usually make a checklist of what I believe and what the candidates say they will do and vote according to the higher percentage. I will say this... If McCain says that he was a POW one more time I am personally going to kick him in the face. He should wander off to one of his 18houses and quit talking about it already. Mudder
Obama. I would have much preferred Hillary Clinton, I was hoping she'd win and we could have Obama run again in 8 years. But whatever. McCain/Palin is the worst ticket since Bush/Cheney. Democrats! Yay.
BigPapa
Are you for trickle down economics.. aka.. Republican? - Gov gives tax break to corp A, corp A builds a new building with it, employing more people, each person hired pays taxes, as well as more taxes because said business has more revenue. Or Gov pays for all your needs.. Corp A makes too much money, so we tax them more and give to those in need... possibly you..

Mm, allow the businesses to rise and fail at their own accord and the successful ones provide more jobs... or cap the successful ones with high taxes and just give that money to the people who would have been working. Edit: Surely all not cut and dry, but there is a general premise there. Who needs politics anyway...
BigPapa
As with most things' date=' the solution is in the middle, not in the extremes.[/quote'] Unfortunately no voting block in the middle.. This is where the next great President will come from... the middle if they can somehow sway the majority of the middle which is all but impossible. HouselessRogue
That's why I said politicians suck. Our political system sucks. The gap is widening. Republican/Democrat, who can refute that? In my life time I will speak to my grandkids about back in the day when we were capitalists... assuming I don't die of Mud-related withdrawls first. Evangelion
Reasons I would vote for Obama/Biden: - The Democratic Party opposes a federal ban on same sex marriage. - The Democratic Party supports a woman's right to choose, regardless of the financial burden of that choice. - The Republican Party sought and will continue to seek legislation that will, in essence and practice, add discrimination to the US Constitution. - Sarah Palin is a quack with scorpions in her vagina. People who say she is a feminist are either uninformed or crazy. In general, I could be the most homophobic, straight-edge conservative to ever live, and I would still vote against the GOP ticket because Sarah Palin is on it. Reasons I will not vote: - No major party has a platform with a strong enough stance on same sex marriage. It violates every principal I have to vote for anyone whose position on anything is solely to stop the federal government from intervening. - While I like Obama, I do not agree with a lot of Joe Biden's viewpoints. And we have to acknowledge that in this particular election, for reasons that are obvious, it is just as important to acknowledge the running mates of each candidate, as there is a very valid possibility that either Vice President could end up running the show within this term. a-guitarist
I used to be so far left it hurt to pee. As of late, as I've shed my idealistic nature I've come to share WC's view on things. "The only thing I hate more than the far right is the far left." That being said, no one is far left.... but I just hate all the yappie-20 year old college students thinking they know the state of the world because they read one article they pulled off a link from their Facebook page. (even more frightening are the 40 and 50 somethings that let rants on random MySpace pages influence their power) I'm a big supporter for NOT gop. However, I will never let party lines dictate who I vote for. I hate to say it, but a lot of people I know are voting based on racial reasons. (Hence why I feel Obama will win.) I agree with a lot of what both candidates have to say on a lot of subjects, but I disagree with both on some things. Those things just happen to be big issues that I can't agree with on any stance. This is the first election where I'll be able to vote and not have a clear choice in my mind. I seriously scared about this next election. Because, in my eyes, either way we go is no better than where we are. That being said, I'm going to have to do serious research into my local third parties and just throw one of them my vote... if they happen to stand for my choice and voice. But, I can appreciate anyone who is not willing to vote. That is your right... but I swear to god, if I hear some random ******* raise hell about the economy or politicians and then comment on how they didn't or don't vote, I'm just going to stab them in the elbow. If you don't wanna vote, don't. Just don't bitch about things. "If you don't weigh in, you don't wrestle." a-g
Mudder
A-G. Voting for a third party is just as bad as not voting. It is a wasted vote. Just vote for Obama. Crackheads.
