Shaman suggestion

It would really boost the 'voodoo' skill as well.

I just played a shaman that had dozens of enemies, was outlawed and a nexus elder...

They dont need changes, and the only people I ever had difficulty with was a Sigil Healer, and a tribunal ranger that dished out so much damage I couldnt stand more than a few rounds of it at a time (and i sent him running a few times)

I easily slew warriors, berserkers, clerics, healers, necromancers, monks, rangers, battlemages...everything....

With the right equipment you can get + 100% on many of your key powers, plague, poison, curse, blind (+10 ), dysentery...

Voodoo doesnt need any changes imho, currently a shaman can pick one person and just ruin their day without even coming near them. You can lay ground work for your mal's...and you can also pole the water so to speak to see how good their saves are. Making this skill more powerful would be wholly unfair to the shamans enemies imho.

Shamans are a devilish class, and can adjust their tact to bring down any melee, and then shift gears to just drop a caster by just changing tact. The only drawback is less than average direct damage. Which, with the right eq procing damage, can be worked around.

FL is interactive paper, scissors, rocks. shamans can kill the classes that can the classes that kill shamans.

ideally at least

Shamans can kill any class.

Undeads can kill any shaman.

Perhaps my opinion is biased. Playing a shaman is fun. Fighting one is not.

I hate shamans. Just thought I would say that.

Or is it shamen?

I'm not saying they are under-powered and need a change, as I think they are just fine.

But to me, it just makes sense that a shaman would be able to compound the effects of the maladictions. Just picture it in your head in a little fantasy world...does your enemy either have plague or not have plague? Or is it possible to give him varying levels of plague?

It's not like somebody gets the plague and that's it ... you get weaker over time, and quickly deteriorate until your death if not treated. Perhaps the saves throw gets easier and easier with each subsequent-compound...

Do any of you even know what lvl voodoo casts at? Let's just say its higher than the normal mal casting for a shaman (which I've already had my say on).

Heh, it did always seem to have a better chance of landing than stuff would otherwise... I voodoo insomnia'd Pominsu ALL the time with my shaman Xaren just to annoy him, and it almost never failed despite him being an illithid and having good saves. I loved it.

what would being illithid have anything to do with it, as insom is supposed to be a mal and not a mental?

shrugs Wasn't sure if it was mal or mental. Insomnia seems like it could go either way to me.
