Fistilantus

I logged on with Fistilantus today knowing that I had not been on enough to keep either my rares or my position in Nexus. I really hadn't been playing him at all in the last month, and I decided it was high time to free up both the cabal spot and the gear I was carrying.

So, after a very long and interesting life, and two tours of Nexus, Fistilantus has now gone to the big robot factory in the sky. I think I had about 3 deaths left.

Fistilantus was without a doubt one of my favourite characters both to PK with and to RP with. Although he was in Nexus, he wasn't 'evil' in the technical sense of the word. Being a siege-engine who had been accidentally activated in an explosion without being inputted with instructions, he wandered the realms examining everything he saw, trying to determine which kind of behaviour would be most conducive to his own survival. Since Aabahran is such a bloody and dangerous place, his conclusion was that in order to survive, one must become powerful and kill anyone who threatened you or got in your way. He thought that Nexus was the group that most embodied this theory.

Shout outs:

Immortals.

Malchaeius and Anume: Thanks for everything you did for Fistilantus, including a fun custom title, my custom warcry, giving me a shot at Elder, and, most importantly, hooking me up with a fun and much needed con quest in my later life. Even though I was a melee tank, I died a lot.

And of course, all the other Imms who helped shape and create Fistilantus' life with interactions of all kinds, great and small.

Nexus.

Iraekiira: A complete beast and probably Fistilantus' closest ally. We did just about everything during our time together in Nexus, from PK, Gear and Desolation trips, to random RP sessions in the cabal.

Reseraht: A short lived character, but still one that Fistilantus liked a lot. You played a drow DK very well, and had very well thought-out RP.

Rymlah: We didn't speak all that much, but you helped me out with some much needed hasting here and there. Your RP was excellent, and I always enjoyed interacting with you.

Aniensis: You were a solid ally, even though you were plagued with some of the worst luck I ever heard of. Seemed that every time you got back on your feet, circumstances would conspire against you and end up with you being full looted again. Props for keeping on.

Triathix: You were the melee beast I always hoped would log on when there were some damned invokers around that were making a chump out of me. Your PK was excellent, and I always enjoyed RPing with you.

Purikant: Another melee beast who was way better at beating up invokers than I was. Always fun interactions and solid RP. It made me feel better when you were around because there was finally someone who could smack Daviaus and Solec.

The new Nexus people: We never really interacted, because I wasn't playing much when you were all active. This means Valadar, Perniciant, Sociucant and anyone else I'm forgetting. I have interacted with you all as another character, though, and it's always been fun.

Knights:

Solec and Daviaus: Without a doubt the people I disliked fighting the most. Even though I think I might have killed Daviaus once, I would have died to each of you at least 4-5 times. Invokers are a total pain in the arse for fire giants, and I really had no answers to your super ice-storms of death. Props on being well played and sharp invokers who tuned the hell out of me.

Tyridael: For a fair while we were always seeming to come into conflict. In my early days of being in Nexus the second time, we seemed to fight more than anyone else. I remember you nailed me once near Marak. Props on being a solid Knight in a time where Knights were outnumbered.

Imssul: We didn't fight all that much, but during a time when you were totally outnumbered, you always stood your ground and dished out some nastiness. Props for having guts to take on the odds.

Magridir: We also fought a lot, and I think you fell foul of the Zerk's new ability to open with haymaker a few times. An all round solid character.

Ara: Though we didn't fight much, and usually our fights just ended with me being put to sleep or Psi Skilled, you were a solid character both in RP and PK, and stood to it even though you were usually fighting against the odds.

Random others:

Rudsvinn: I will still never work out how you managed to blackjack me while I was hasted and enlarged. But somehow you did, and nicked off with a bunch of my things that I never got back. Bastard.

Orsakin: After the alliance between Syndicate and Nexus deteriorated, we found ourselves at odds more than once. I remember a few occasions where we both nearly killed each other, and both ran off to live another day.

Lamah: Although I sometimes didn't agree with your RP, there was no questioning your death melee PK. Probably killed me more than any one other character.

If there's anyone on this list who I interacted with and didn't mention, it's just because Fistilantus lived a very long life, and my memory has failed me. Thanks to everyone who made this character fun.

Try a zerk before you die, they're fun.

Great long lived character. I've always liked Fistilantus' rp and you even got Lamah once when he underestimated you. Fistilantus inspired me in quite a few ways, for future rp and pk ideas. I don't know why you disagreed with Lamah's rp. For one he considered alot of qclasses unnatural (depending on what type they were) same as undeads. Additionally he believed Nexus was becoming a threat to the world as many of them either tried to kill him or destroy his home, thus resulting in war. It was actually your rp actions in desolation that changed my view of "the bot". I remember conversing about you with Iraekiira as it was going on.
