Overriding Stats

If you press the stats over it's limit example

a drow with max 16 con if you get alot of con items and you had your con

up by like 16(7) would you gain more hp per level and would it be more difficult to lay maledictive spells on you.

I always thought having the bracketed number was kind of like a overflow

like if you were to wear something lowered your con, you'd still be above your max, and it wouldn't reduce your con as long as there was a postive number over your max stat.

And you are exactly correct. Also important in the Str department, when a shaman casts weaken on you.
