sarduarkar
I use three main pieces of adware removal... 1. Adaware se by lavasoft 2. Spybot 3. a) Bitdefender free online virus scan Trend micro free online virus scan Do all three (or more if you know any good ones) because some dont detect certain adawares that others do and vice versa. Sometimes I need to tinker with ctrl+alt+del and end processes cause some adware wont delete unless you get them to stop running, or regedit some out (but i recommend you dont do either unless you know what you're doing - could mess up comp) Hope it helps

Pali
I use spybot and adaware se to remove anything that manages to make it past the built in popup/program blocker that my browser, Avant browser, has. Which tends to work quite well.

WarriorCleric
Ah, yes, I know virtumonde well, many an hour spent trying to ditch this program off some friends, friends computer. The program I ended up using to get rid of it was a privately made program and was fairly agressive in the removal. This is what I used to get rid of it. * I FOUND THIS ON ANOTHER FORUM * download VirtumundoBeGone from: http://secured2k.home.comcast.net/tools/VirtumundoBeGone.exe * Save it to your Desktop * Close all running programs (including your Internet Browser) * Double-click VirtumundoBeGone.exe on the desktop * Follow the directions as indicated please be advised that this program will generate a "BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH"... this is an expected/necessary part of the process, so don't be surprised when it happens. just reboot if your system "jams" *Disclaimer* I used it, it worked for me. However I didn't make it, and I don't know anything about the program really. If you use it, don't come crying to me if it breaks anything. Warpnow
Psh, they're both the same. Both have the same toolbars/plugins which do the same thing... Just don't use Netscape. Anyone know exactly how long it has been since Netscape was updated? I am pretty sure they forgot they NEEDED to update that browser...
