Guest emp_newb
Damian, that was his name. I think he embodied the essence of true nuetrality, I am pretty sure that he even got the title similar to the Avatar of Balance.
Mudder
Yeah but he was a gay herald. I think true neuts should be more aggressive... Just my take on it.
Iusedtobesomebody
Play it apathetic. Don't care. You can rank. Or not. You can have nice gear. Or not. Flip a coin IG. Make no decisions. Make other people do it for you.
myrek
Play it apathetic. Don't care. You can rank. Or not. You can have nice gear. Or not. Flip a coin IG. Make no decisions. Make other people do it for you. This is supposed to be an escape from reality. If I wanted to play an apathetic character, I'd have the character sit around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character that sat around all day on a computer playing a character... HouselessRogue
I am going to get back on topic. True neutral. For one, you can't say there is two ways to play this alignment because that is absurd. There is always a multitude of options to any given alignment. I am actually playing a NN character right now. Said character doesn't think that the world has to be perfectly balanced at all times, although the extremes can be quite dangerous and it would strike out if need be but there is a perfectly natural sway of things and the world tends to right itself all on its own. Evil and good, law and chaos, those things will also oppose each other. As long as opposition remains things tend to be balanced. Only in rare cases would said character intervene to "right" things. Case and point: The age of suffering. With that said, said character, acts as it feels it should without the influence of good, evil, law, or chaos. Though truth be told it is a preferable to live under the rule of good rather than the rule of evil. That's just life. Wouldn't you rather have a good king or neighbor than an evil murdering sociopath? Of course you would, unless you are a murdering sociopath yourself and then you might get together to rub each other in peanut butter and draw pictures of your mother in feces. In the end you are not going to sway said character by debating or appealing to morality issues as said character tends to see things very much black and white. Said character is free to act as it feels naturally without worrying about prejudice or compulsion. To said character the other people of the world who bicker and debate are wasting their time as there will always be two sides of the fence and it sees no accomplishment by having a glorified D waving contest. In the end, the middle path will be the balanced and proper option. It is the axis on which the world spins.
inscribed
ive always thought that those characters who were 'trying to keep a balance' were best played as a chaotic evil. if your character constantly changes sides or decides to kill someone he was just recently helping, it pretty much means you're chaotic evil. to me, true neutral was always the beast's alignment. a player character who is true neutral, to me at least, is one that relies on instinct to survive, and is only concerned with self preservation. myrek
killing doesn't make you good or evil. Your motivations do. A neutral could be logically and calmly trimming the population to maintain balance. Just my thoughts. I avoid neutrals more than I avoid playing goods.
