I think the last 3 posters are wholly unable of getting the concept. Healers are not given gate specifically to reach corpses, but to aid those in need. It is an RP thing and this is such a ridiculous argument. Aggressive Healers should be punished, not the whole class. Have we come this far in the MUD that we need to argue about the overpowered nature of a 99% non-PK class?! I mean REALLY people. This isn't a major, game-altering ability. It was just fine through 1.0 and 2.0 from all I saw.
It isn't about being lazy, it is about timely aiding those who are injured or dying.
It isn't about scouting or PK, it is about aiding those who are injured or dying.
This is about RP, not PK, which if abused should result in a hasty Outcasting.
It is that simple and I am shocked the ability was changed at all. It was never a problem and if you are an Undead or Vamp or whatever, just learn to deal with it. Every class has a bane, generally, and that is among their worst.
Again, this is just ridiculous. As though Healers are some mass-PKing class that threatens all with their amazing offense.
No, you missed the point. You don't HAVE to gate to get somewhere. Healers have a damn easy time to get anywhere they want. They don't need this in any kind of way.

Tell that to my undead priest in early 2.0 who LITERALLY had between 5 and 10 people gating to/chasing him with a healer and group attacking.
Or to the countless evil nexus chars who WEREN'T undead but still had healers gate in to get a bead on their area then relay the information to their goodie buddies.
Gate IS a major, game-altering ability. Plain and simple. The change was a GREAT one. I could agree with the no_gate flag, or even the inability to gate to any PC that isn't a goodie. But even then you get "healers" popping in to "heal" their buddies who are running in a PK. It isn't hard to do now, but at least they sorta gotta work for it.
