Im prolly gonna be gone for a week or two after the stuff I just witnessed/experienced. I love playing this game, maybe more than I should. I try hard to raise the quality of RP and PK for the most part. I rarely question others, and rarely do things out of line. But after what I just experienced I need a break, and so does my current char. Not saying I won't be back, or flaming anyone. Just next time you guys are playing, pking, traveling, whatever. Think about how angry you get over alot of things that you yourselves do. of late I have THROWN my characters rp in all directions, some people take it and run with it, which my applause to you. And some people ignore it, which is ok. Just sometimes when your char does certain things, think if you would want them done. Just because a char is evil and yours is good, does not mean you have to go all crusader on him, and if your char is evil, you do not have to be the stereotype. Try to rp it a bit and make it yours, not some pre determined mold of a char. Ill see you guys later.

We see these threads of people leaving because of what takes place in game and what happens to their character, but after seeing so many people post these "break" threads and speaking with almost all of them on AIM/MSN or what have you, its near hypocritical. No, I am not targeting you Emp_Newb. What I am saying is we have this constant crying and complaining about ganging, full loots, shady kills, log in times with other players, and so on, but we only have these threads when that particular thing happens to thread starter.

I don't know what happen to Phaige as I do not play FL anymore, not saying I won't ever, but for the time I don't. I can only assume that it was something along the lines listed above. Its frustrating that we all complain about it, but we all do it. If you say you do not or have not done anything in the list above, I am calling you a liar. There is no possible way all of us are the fair playing zealots we claim to be simply because this is such a reoccurring event.

So, we have a few options, the two that comes to mind presently are;

1. Get over and play.

2. Do it back.(which we do, thus the cycle)

We all want revenge on the person that was ****ting in our soup, so we do whatever to get back. Is it right? Yes. I fully believe that in a game where our characters KNOW that we will be able to live again, that we will come with an eye towards revenge. Count of Monte Cristo is a perfect example.

Those that know what I mean, you will enjoy the game more because you will plan out your character's next step and be almost diabolic. Those that don't, you will continue to post whiny threads aimed at getting a pat on the back and a " get back on the horse bucko " with a smile. Chances are, that same person is the one that screwed you over.

Its okay to vent. I have done my fair share, ask people like Festorvian, Zrothum, and even Emp_Newb about my AIM temper. When death comes and you lose hours of work, it sucks BAD. Many bad words are filling up my AIM box. Within a few minutes, I am back to work getting basics and plotting revenge. You had that god suit once, you'll have it again or whatever happened.

DISCLAIMER: Not aimed at Emp_Newb individually, but at the general populace of FL.

dude I feel for you as I know what happened. But that's just how the game goes. I die get full looted i RAGE like theres no tomorrow hit walls ect ect but I eventually get over it. Ganging is apart of the game wether you are doing it or wether the other is doing it. Far as I saw, there was alot of ganging going on. So all in all, it was fair. My thought really.

You, reader. I'm talking to you. Please at least try to rp it out a little bit afterwards, with WHATEVER happens. It washes the wound a little bit, and can make even a full loot bearable. Just because you're shi tting your pants trying to 'g all; put all bac;sac 1.;sac 1.' doesn't mean you can maybe just maybe take a second or two of that time to rp in a positive way. Just like APB, this is aimed at no on in particular, but it's been a problem. I had a post on it awhile ago... that I thought was not whiny and rather pertinent.

Ok, I was involved in a less than straight up fight. Yes. Im not naming any names, nor flaming. Each char did what they thought they had to, and I have NO ill will towards anyone in game at all over what transpired BEFORE I died. My main aggravation was to the fact that even after a full loot/sac I threw myself at the person who landed the kill, begging for rp with all but puppy eyes. To which I am retorted be gone. Now this char is a char I have interacted with as SEVERAL chars, both evil and good. They have offered little rp, and little interaction across all fronts, both allied, waring and neutral. Im only saying this because, and vets can agree with me on this, there was a time that just because you where at war does not mean you are a recluse. I had no interaction with who slew me today, or participated in the fighting, other than seeing them kill my hunting mates, with no rp, sac a few things, and leave. I have seen them do it numerous times.

I can remember when talking to people you where at war with was a HUGE boost. Perfect example is my Barb zerk Lmathr and Mindflayers cleric Norgrot. We where complete opposites, Female to male, caster to melee. Yet through the fights we still had rp, we learned about each others chars as we fought. This game is not just a PK mud, it is an RP PK enforced mud. meaning your not just typing Bash or crit chest your BEING someone. Again, Im not at all mad about a full loot, Jeeze Im a level 45 char and was decked to the teeth, I EXPECTED to lose that pre pinn. I knew it was inevitable. At this point in my FL career, I can lead any zone with pretty much any class. Gear is not the problem. What incentive do we have to offer heavy rp? People make jokes about heralds not being a cabal, well think differently. Heralds do not go herald for Sweet pk skills, they do it for ROLEPLAY, there is almost no serious reason to go Herald other than enhancing your character. Palwen being the most recent example. Koviaem. Zeyrsi. Damian. Dilorry. For christ sake Aulian had a herald vamp, who did it for originality. Narnokles went herald after a bit, because of RP. This game is a fantastic place to lose a few hours that you generally would not want back regardless, why let it degenerate to just another flop filled with the "good ol days"

Continuous silent PK is different from not wanting to speak to those you have killed/fought.

These kind of threads do not really serve any purpose (perhaps venting) and do not belong here.

If you play a qrace/class, expect to get taken down as soon as you reach the pk range of your opposed align. Getting those last few levels is supposed to be hard, it's supposed to be a challenge.

This does not include getting ganged or bad rp.

If you have an issue with what happened in game, post on prayer.

If you wish to just vent and scream and rage, post on prayer.

I shall only offer this: just because someone is unwilling to talk to you after/before/during PK does not mean that they are not RPing. I've had plenty of chars that had no interest in talking to those they considered worthy of destruction.

As I had said, it is not just this char that has interacted with the chars in question. I have interacted with two of them across many chars.

It is about 10 different kinds of stupid that people who you've never interacted with will hunt you down and kill you. I really think we need to tighten up the RP enforcement part of PK RP enforced if possible. It gets incredibly old trying to RP with pretty much all of the 10 people logged in and no one except maybe a clannie giving you more than two words.

If you really have no interest in any version of RP whatsoever (No I do not consider "I don't want to talk to someone I deem worthy of destruction", you beat someone in something you either congratulate their effort or your taunt them....you never ever just stroll away silently. It just doesn't happen.) you should really go play a GODWARs mud.

Uh... paladin sees evil person. Paladin kills evil person on sight, because said paladin is a Purity follower. How is this stupid?

Yes, it does happen, and yes, it can be perfectly within someone's RP. I'm sorry that not all my chars are as chatty as yours, but that's just the way they are. This is not some everybody-hugs-and-sits-down-for-tea-after-a-fight world... this is a violent, bloody, dangerous place where someone can kill you because they want your shoes.
