Werebeasts have a vuln to silver last I checked. Seeing as they are not a qclass/qrace this isn't something that needs to be kept confidential. The forums are supposed to be for helping people learn; you can just say it instead of telling everyone they are wrong.
Open more classes to Werebeast
A werebeasts are neutral...
Oh yeah, and it isnt an ogre, elf/drow or a dwarf/druegar.
No one will want to play those classes
They will only have downsides, no upsides... I really cannot see any reason to include more classes for the race.
I know werebeast are neutral, but if you think about it real shamans and monks are neutral.
Only problem is, there are no real shamans and monks in FL. There are only FL-shamans and FL-monks in FL. Since FL-shamans and FL-monks can't be neutral, it's just not going to happen. And the monks, well... Think of a monk. Think of what defines a monk, what makes them different from just another martial arts guy. Then think of the beastly nature of for example a werewolf. They do not match in any kind of way.
out of extreme curiosity, what fantasy world are you referring to when you say that true shamen are neutral??
i already knew real monks are supposed to be neutral.
I believe he speaks of the native american idea of shaman, or Shadowrun Gator Shaman, take your pick.
or native Sami shaman, or native african... or...
Also people kick refering to werebeast as beastly savages. No where in the help files does it state this. It states that werebeast were/are HUMAN who decided to defend nature and thus was granted special powers. Im tired of people using the stupid analogy "a werewofl blah, blah, blah" no stupid that IF you decide to BLOODY transform. If you want to rp a werebeast savage idiot go ahead, but dont define a whole race to that conception.
Their not really idiots, but come on. Picture a werewolf. Not just the word, SEE the werewolf. Now, when you've done that, picture the werewolf in deep meditation over the greatest mysteries in life. That's has hard for me as seeing a minotaur do that.
Read the helpfile again. You'll notice that they are ALMOST normal humans, in their human forms, but when they transform, they become different.
Indeed, but the point is, they are HUMAN most of the time. They transform willingly or when they are low on health. You can't use the werewolf argument because you are saying they are predominantly the beast first in which case the help file DOES NOT describe werebeast to be this way. Like I said you can rp to be a savage beast but by the helpfile that isnt what you are limited too. I thought that werebeast would make good monks due to their closness with animals and monk animal stances. shrug
That's about valid argument enough to get a werebeast trough an app, IF monks could be neutral. ![]()
Anything is possible with RP.
Yes, I agree that werebeasts can be played as either mostly-human or mostly-beast...it doesn't really define it in the helpfile. I can picture the gongfu man suddenly becoming a real tiger when he adopts the tiger stance (or does a special move)
But then again, I can also imagine werewolves meditating and doing martial arts (as wolves)...
werebeasts can have the best of both worlds, beast and human...very blessed
now feral...they are the ones stuck in the ugly half-beast, half-human form....the cursed of gaia (and civilization, right?)
so....they should be racial enemies I think
(I really don't like it when feral go watcher....they are basically demons themselves)
On a side note, I think the monks can't be neutral rule became obsolete when blms were introduced and allowed to be any align...there isn't really a balance issue with neutral monks now...so I strongly feel they should be able to be neutral
I could see a Feral going Watcher. Just because they're cursed of Gaia, they could be trying to redeem themselves by protecting that which has cursed them to begin with. And in hope they believe that with such help before they die forever they'll be transformed back to a more humanistic figure or beastly figure to preserve Her in spirit as they did in life. And being shunned by civilization would be perfect for Watcher, as Tribunal is exactly that, and as such would be targeted by Ferals as well as any political figures (Nobles/Royals). I wouldn't see them as Demons per se, as they're not a complete opposition to Her, merely a forcefully evolved creature by the very essence of the opposition of Watcher and their beliefs. They're not really anything so unnatural as Avatars or Demons or any other unnatural race, as they are powers given by the Gods to deform their very soul. A Feral, though disfigured permanently and shunned by civilization, I don't believe were ever deformed by any Gods, but more so those very people that Watcher are devoted to destroying. Ferals in Watcher to me actually made perfect sense to at least that extent.
As for Monks being Neutral, yeah, it'd open up possible race selections as well, it would make sense after all. Hell, I always thought of Monks being purely neutral anyways, after all they usually don't take sides, and the armor they can wear as a neutral isn't something spectacular with the encumber issues. An inner balance to serve all and not just one side or the other. There is no point to take a side, when true harmony is the balance. That's just what I've thought of Monks since rolling one for my first character and having the option of being Good or Evil, it just didn't make sense to me at the time, and now even more so for the fact their counterpart like Celerity has just pointed out are capable of being any align.
i always thought ferals became the way they were through mainly physical forces of the wicked harsh forsaken lands desert enviornment. their curse is more figurative, it was the insane environment that disfigured them.

I can see a Feral in watcher ALOT easier then I can see a feral in Tribunal...
And as for monks, I agree. Its about time the neutral temples were represented by monks.
I don't know how many times this has been said:
Monks are not allowed to be neutral largely due to BALANCE REASONS!!!
Enough with the 'neutral monks' already, OK? In my estimatoin you've got as much chance of it happening as you do Evil Faeries.
As for werebeasts and classes - well, monk is out due to neutral thing. I don't see ninja either - for the simple reason once a werebeast transforms they are literally an animal. I cannot fathom any animal maintaining any about of discipline (martial or otherwise) needed to be other a ninja.
I have no idea how a werewolf would conceal itself in a city. None what-so-ever.
If we take this RP to its logical conclusion when you transform you should be losing all the skills of a class if you can't maintain your discipline. That's:
-
Nasty code work when the IMPs have other things to do.
-
Going to be a nice, big, fat gimp on the race.
I really can't see how werebeasts could be opened for more than warriors.
L-A
For serious.
The only neutral monk I've ever seen was Daemian, and he couldn't PK to save his life. Although I hear he had a knack for beating up vampires.

FERAL
In the year 368, a group of Miruvhorian refugees were forced to flee into
the Forsaken Lands. These men and women, driven by the instinct of
survival, managed to make their home within those lands for some time.
However, as time went on, their minds were tainted and their
bodies ravaged by the influence of Chaos in the corrupted land on which
they lived. They began to crouch low as their bodies attuned to the wild
and some grew claws
with which to defend themselves. Their senses were empowered tremendously
even as fur covered their skin and their features grew more beastly then
human. Fire, being once a tool necessary for survival, became their greatest
fear.
The feral, as they have become known, emerged from the Forsaken Lands a
rugged and forever changed people. They are extremely fast, strong and
tough, and their need of survival has attuned their natural reflexes to the
extreme. Being the product of corruption and tainted means, the
natural world
rejected them. They in turn rejected the civilized world and the rules
imposed upon it. Living in an extremely harsh environment, their outlook on
life is much the same. Kindness and goodness are a foreign concept to their
necessities of life. The feral are truly the forsaken people of Aabahran.
Feral can be the following classes:
Warrior, Ranger, Thief, Ninja, Blademaster, Cleric, and Shaman

Hehe, when I made the help, I tried to make it very clear that they were corrupted by the chaos (AKA Nexus) in the Forsaken Lands (like everything else that lives there)...It makes them very close to demons...
I think Celerity wins that argument.
Not necessarily. This is the intentional fallacy.
