faerie fog

It's useful, but it's too laggy to be much use without a gang of friends around you. Once you cast it, you force the rogue's hand and open yourself up to being blackjacked/strangled.

I propose changing it so the fog remains in the room for a tick, like Firestorm. To compensate for the (slight) buff, the glowing effect could be made to last only one tick instead of ten*.

*as it does at 50

EDIT: Oh, yeah, except unlike firestorm this wouldn't follow you around. It'd be attached to the room it was cast in.

Just do something to avoid strangle/blackjack and fog away.

I SUPPOSE.

But what about those people who are unaffected by poison, huh?

Huh, huh, huh, huh, huh?

...well I guess they're unaffected by poison, then, huh...

I've never been a fan of poisoning myself, anyway.

You can still poison yourself, you just have to figure out a way to do so.

HMMM, I says.

Hehehe.

Also, Firestorm does not follow you around, does it?

I can't remember, it's been a while.

I actually agree with the idea and it makes more sense being a "fog" that it might stick around for 0 hours with a saves check any time someone walks in the room. But it should also not be able to be cast for 0 hours to prevent fogging multiple rooms and increasing success chance.

No, it does not.

Cast fireball instead of faerie fog. No saving the coming out of hide.

Unless you happen to be a half cleric. Then you should just wear your backpack and relax. No thief is going to kill you.

Or you could always be hungry.

I say leave the fog as it is.

Actually, I kind of agree with the change. It's a new idea that would mean people have to think a little more and it gives it more of an edge over always poisoning yourself if you can do it. Maybe lower the duration on the character it lands on though instead of I think like roughly 10 hours cut it down to like 4.

This is why we need some properly played ninjas/thieves... the guys who are good enough to not let you know you need to worry.

mya- hunger does not wake you anymore apparently.. at least while blackjacked or strangled. It MIGHT be a bug of course.

I was parched one time and didn't eat because I was in the middle of chasing Dey's thief around after he stole my stuff. I get blackjacked and saw the parched message but didn't wake up.

As with fog- I think that will make clerics even more harder to take down. Leave it. It's fine. Just start with an area spell and then faerie fire. It doesn't have as much lag. Shamans get chorus of anguish, invokers get a billion area spells, clerics can do it too.

Once it gets to the point of you being parched or starving I believe the damage just stops. It should probably be changed to start hitting UNSPEAKABLES, then someone could say,

"Well, I fought badass today with my Undead Ninja."

"So how'd that go?"

"Well, I got away."

"So what's the problem?"

"My hunger owned my *** hard."

Actually I'm pretty sure it was before that stage..

Anyone wanna try it out to check if it's a bug?

Faerie fog currently stays on someone for a whlie - allowing you ot chase them. I think it does what it is meant to - ie an area attack spell that stops someone hiding.

If you are so sure that the rogue is there adn don't want to give them the opening shot, use a fireball potion instead...

L-A

My advice:

Don't sit around in towns. What are you? A bunch of Herald healers or something?
