hey, Im on that list and I will flat out admit that I had NO clue Skia was near me, and was not even remotely expecting to get assassinated. They are like one of MAYBE 3 ninjas that have assassinated me in my 7+ year career here

and the reason it happened? Not because assassinate is overpowered, not because Skia was an uber race/class/cabal combo. Because I was careless. I did an assassinate Ninja. Perfect race/ninjitsu for it, and I sucked. Why? Because I was not willing to be patient, and smart. My hat goes off to Skia for her ability, I just dislike that players are causing yet another good player to leave.

A few things:

- If someone cusses you out more than is acceptable in a pg 13 mud: Note to Immortal / Prayer forum. (Personally I think the lack of funny ic insults is depressing, I always get this huge wide grin when someone starts icly "trashtalking" to me about me being the dregs of a barrel of beer (dwarf), dirt under their fingernails (haughty elf), etc. some were even better ;)

I remember callign raargant a left handed elven woman hehe. That lead to The Womanly Gnomish Holy Shaman. That was my all time favorite burn.

A few things:

- If someone cheats: Note to Immortal / Prayer forum.

- If someone gangs (not talking about cabal defense right at the altar room) continually: Note to Immortal / Prayer forum. Ganging is disencouraged if not illegal and constant ganging will lead to no promotions in cabals, etc.

- If someone goes ooc: Note to Immortal / Prayer forum.

- If someone cusses you out more than is acceptable in a pg 13 mud: Note to Immortal / Prayer forum. As to the complaints about trash talk after taking a death / no rp / unfriendliness towards newbies:

LEAD BY EXAMPLE. This will do a LOT more than complaining about this problem. The same goes for other personal dislikes like being fullooted/ looted after a linkdead death/ killed without any apparant rp reason, etc, etc, etc.

YOU can make things better. Inspire. Create. Astonish people. :P

Be a bit more lenient with an obvious newb who is on the opposite side (You can always bend your rp a little to achieve this.)

You want someone to pk. If you frustrate the newbs till they leave you only hurt yourself. Give them a piece of advice or (if you know they need to learn a lot still) don't empower ALL of your cool cabal skills knowing you'll destroy them anyway.

Be a little more willing to teach / show / advice the newbie on the same side.

Be a little less selfish (this goes out to all you vets) when doing a gear/winter/desolation trip: Running through like a maniac will teach the newbie little, let them ask, give them a moment to breath and not just their screen flying by. ALSO do not grap all of the cool eq, even if you know the newb will loose it probably in the matter of half an hour. Everyone needs a chance to improve.

To all your semi-newbs semi-vets with rage control problems: I know you are out there. I know it because I had to yell at several of you for cussing or going ooc several times ;) Get yourself a punching bag. Log off after a death if you know you will not manage to rp now. OR put in quiet mode if you are very annoyed. Much better to stay quiet for a few ticks, take a deep breath and THEN rp than to do something you know is not ok.

Now to ninjas:

Congratulating someone for killing you is really ooc unless you are rping some kind of masochistic death worshipper who would like being killed.

You can express the same feeling better icly.

Studying is not easy, sometimes it becomes easy however if your target is forced to defend their cabal from others. But with cabal abilities come cabal duties. (This is why you get Life Insurace. Some deaths you will have to accept as unavoidable.) This is no reason to be upset at the ninja, who's doing his job: Killing you. If you've missing them being there (which might well happen if they are very skilled) and loose all your eq, it gets back into circulation and everyone else is happy! ;)

To Skia: An interesting, deathly and very very sneaky ninja. Played with much skill. I would have loved to see more of the rp you had started.

OOC friends will happen. You cannot stop it. What you can watch for and react to, is when these 'friends' contually make characters that interact, and trust me as a former IMM, the current IMMs have ways to do such a thing.

Honestly I never really tried to make chars that interact with friends I had on AIM, or from forums. Actually I believe the majority of my chars oppose the people I talked to across AIM. I think it takes a really immature person to start creating ooc rings to keep characters equipped, or to create a lineup of cabaled chars that perfectly compliment each other.

My characters are born because I get excited about a new type of rp. It's actually often to my chagrin that I find the class/race/cabal combo or whatever is gonna suck if I happen to find out who I'll be fighting. I love my current combo, but I find I am not playing it how I want to play it, nor probably how it should be played. I'm working on it, but I love the rp, and I still do rp when I can, but things get tricky. :)

All this talk about...well...assinations...and ninja...and how everyone seems to enjoyed it at some point...anyone want to assasinate me? This sounds like fun!

Oh man, when you get strangled, the bloods already pumping, then you see you're blind....and then BOOM.

With lethal speed, someone strikes from the shadows and +++ASSASSINATES+++ you!

Hell, he got me straight up, not a strangle, blindness, not even combat. I walked out of a place I needed to be. BOOM, assassinated, I did not even have a chance to get excited hehe. He TOTALLY Rick James'ed my ***.

Everyone I talk to on AIM, Twin, Dey, Mali and WC we talk about mostly other ****. Twin and I? I bestow upon him the wisdom of life, and he tells me how to stop smelling like an arm pit. Dey and I talk about music and what not, and I send him songs I've recorded- none of you know a true romeo and juliet story until it takes place across an ocean... and I've just got another idea for a song/video, Dey... give me a week or so. Mali and I have a long history through FL, and lately we've been talking about GIS, Grad school, crafts, our health and religion. WC is my brother, so obviously it's mostly it's gay jokes and insults.

I do talk FL with them on occasion, but it's mostly about the past and fun RP and memories and such. Mali and will, once in awhile, talk about our next multiplay session where we rolling a firegiant zerk and an elf paladin, group around a neutral invoker (played by twin or dey) and just clear the pbase. If you believe that, you probably also think the IMMs want to run this with an iron fist and hate the players.

Perhaps we both have different ways of playing successful ninjas. Mine is being caballed, and fighting open cabal war as much as possible, and achieving studies fighting those who could regularly see me using their cabal skills.

Yours were quite different, if memory permits.

I was in syndicate collecting bounties and heading a lucrative herb/scroll/potion/any equipment business. I don't know what you mean.

Oh and Grosek I love you man! You need to stay and play, PLAY LAUGH GROW BABY! Seriously though Skia was scary and you made people panic which is what a ninja should do. I was never bashing YOU personally, I like you as a player and what you have done here. I was however perhaps bashing the assassinate skill, maybe, but at any rate I think we all love you man!

Exactly what I was going to say. We made friends in early 2.0 as the Twin Tyrants, trashing everyone in sight with our two pathetic thieves and since then, we have been at each other's throats, even though we're like brothers outside the game.

Grosek, hang around. Have an alternate character.

I'm posting here because I really don't want to see you go Grosek.

If I'm not mistaken I'm actually the cause for all of this. You claimed I had abused a skill. This may or may not be true. If so I'd like to know how because I have no idea what you were talking about when Skia mentioned it IG. I remember using a skill to go after Hainasf yet I was on a Crusade against Nexus. I log off because I was cooking some pork in the oven and put too much oil in it. I log back on and continue what I was doing. I see Skia there and I decide to kill her. Was I supposed to ignore her? I'm not trying to create any offense, I honestly don't know what I did. No matter which way I try (considering ig rp and ooc) to see it I just can't rationalize the situation to see it from your side. And if I did do something wrong please Imms let me know.

I understand exactly where you're coming from about everyone hating and not respecting you due to my experiences with my ninja Inmek. Though I disagree with you sorely on the way there skills work. I noticed you did alot of things wrong with your ninja making things abit harder for you. Sometimes you have to remember that just because you play a class one way doesn't mean someone else would have the same experiences with it as you.

Please do not take what i'm trying to say the wrong way. I've always respected you as a player and always enjoyed your characters. I do not want to see you gone under a misunderstanding from either of our sides.

I always hate hearing people talk about skill abuse. I cannot think of a single application in which a skill can actually be abused. Maybe the skill is over-used, but abused? I just cannot think that the imms would let something go through that could be abused in a manner to cause a deletion.

If I am reading into this correctly and without saying anything I shouldn't. As an evil ninja or thief... you can expect the crusader to come a knocking. The same way as a good ninja or thief... you can expect the vampire to come a knocking. I don't see that as abuse. Some classes are the bane of other classes. That's how it has to be for balance.

When there was like 15-20 people on at peak, ninjas are great; but when you're playing a really active ninja during an era where there are about 7 people on, I'm not sure what exactly you expected with the reactions to your kills. In an era where so few people are, they're really expecting they're time to count with non-hidden foes. In a time where people might want to actually RP in CC to, you know, maybe build up some atmosphere and flair or whatever so that maybe someone new might talk to them and they wouldn't have to totally be absent from any area of the civilized world, you're playing a character who isn't seen and quadruply ensures against that.

In a cabal sense, I agree with your complaints. In a sense of what this game actually needed, YOU needed to roll a different character buddy. The pleas for you to stay are a little too coddling, even for you.

There is no reason he needed roll any other char. He rolled a ninja and did well with it. Everyone finds their own way. The game does need solid players, so he fulfilled that. Most questions have been answered, which I think all point back to my signature, in a more general sense. :)

btw, who are you?

Telling someone what they need to play is quite a bit over the line. Skia was a well played ninja, and is a good player behind the char as well. He left because of what other people did to the pbase, not him. I do not think you really can get all soap box about Grosek.

Sorry to see you go Grosek, I understand your pain. I feel like lately there has been an influx of pre-meditated AIM bull**** going on that is leading to ganging and looting. I'm not gonna point fingers and name names because I don't know who you are, but I know what you're doing. As with any game I play, I am willing to drive over 200 miles to beat your *** in real life.
