mya
I know some of you have some trouble keep track of your spells/Skills. So i will share some Wisdom. This is what i have to warn me when my Critical spells Fall. We are Talking about Sanctuary and Protective shield. OR for example, to warn you when you are disarmed. Also aids when that Nasty Necro is spamming "Sleep" or "Death Gasps". Most players, like me have Zmud highlight the line saying that Sanctuary droped, in a different colour. I also have Zmud #BEEP when it falls. This is very nice. The next Level is using the Status bar above your input box (the place where you write). You can define a variable like @Sant, and place it in there. Just Right click on the Status bar. Next you create a trigger to react to when Sancturay goes up or falls. When it goes up make the @Sant variable equals something like "Santuary". When it fall equal to "none". This will allow you to know if you have that spell up without typing AFFlictions in combat. The third level of spell tracking is having Zmud talk to you. Using the command #play, you can play a Wav file everytime one of your spells falls. Better leave this to realy important spells, like ... Sanctuary. You can use this webpage to create your own text-to-speech WAV files. http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php This really aids with necros sleep. Because you know, he will land that sleep if you just stand there and do nothing. The final Level of spell tracking, for example for Sanctuary, involves having Zmud capture the number of ticks you have of Sanctuary when you type AFFlictions. And then decrease that value when ever a tick happens in the mud. Keeping track of the Tick is dificult, but you can have Zmud predict when your Sanctuary is about to fall with 0-2 ticks of accuracy. This is a great aid as you can plan ahead to move aways to refresh it. This works best on classes that can cast the spell of Sanctuary.
tassinvegeta
Or... You can just type af and if sanc is up you do nothing and if sanc is down you can 'quaff vial'. Don't know about you young bucks but all this new technology is just too much for me
a-guitarist
Back in my day, we had telnet and we were happy! We didn't ask for any of these Magrows, or Alices. And the ZEEMUD? The MASHclient? Bah! We worked every day till Midnight and still couldn't afford that nice of a MUD Buggy! Hell, the day I got my first gMUD I nearly cried. Kept that Mud Buggy running for over a decade now. I sometimes pull it outta the backup folder, ya' know... nostalgia 'n all, when I get tired of high class'n it with my MASHclient. They are right, you never forget your first. She was a beaut, all 256 of her colours shining through my CRT. I picked, for my first combo, a blue background with green text... it didn't make much sense, but the point was I picked it. It was mine. You kids these days, with your coloured Magrows that dingalings when your sword falls to the ground and coos at you in pink "You dropped your sword, sweety, you might want to pick it up before the bad man hits you again" that follows five minute later, "I'm glad you're still alive, you make me happy!" Rolling? HAH! It was more like Squaring! You'd hit "no" so many times you'd forget what you were doing, then see that juicey score pop up that'd let you max by 45 just to let yourself go one more past it! And you were left with what? What today would be called a 35! A THIRTY FIVE! But, it's the times, I guess. When I found out we were paying a flat rate for our internet connection I laughed, "That'll never last. With all these MUDders playing, they'd eat up too much Bandwith and crash the AOLs!" and I was wrong then, like I could be now. It depresses me. Gets me thinking 'bout stuff... like the need of it all, the meaningless of it all.... Anyways, anyone seen Old Yeller? a-g EDIT: Thanks, Mya, good stuff. Felt like riffing. Oh man... that site has some great uses...

BigPapa
I STILL use Gmud...been going strong since 2000... If you "ain't" using GMUD you "aint" S**T! I say that, but the truth is I know I will improve if I get Zmud or Mush, but Id rather just play with the limited time I have rather than do those things that would help me... wierd? Guest emp_newb
http://www.gammon.com.au/files/mushclient/mushclient437.exe Mushclient eats zmuds face. And clinging to Gmud is like trying to race a chevette. Sure it weighs almost nothing, but it would not hit 90 even if you dropped it out of a plane.
