BigPapa
Is 110% the max proficiency? If you have 100% plus expertise etc... Or if you have 100% with items that increase proficiencies... can it go past 110% ??? Is it possible to get to 120% 130%?
Guest emp_newb
110 is max I am pretty sure. Except for exotics which hits 113 or 118 I believe.
BigPapa
Why is there gear that increase X spell or skill by %15 percent if you can only get 110?
a-guitarist
True, I've seen things that increase a spell by 25. But, their point may fall under the ability to lower skills/spells, where spells may be brougth down by 15, but since your whip increases by 25, you're still sitting on +10. Or, maybe spells work differently than skills? I haven't done enough research in that, myself. a-g

If max is 110%..... Can you lower spells by percent or by level?
f0xx
What I am more interested to know is at what level do spells get capped at, if there is such thing at all.
Twinblades713
I've heard they get capped at 53, but nothing would stop me from getting spell level of 54 if I could.

Be a dwarf, storm, duergar, fire, etc. and prof yourself on terrians that may be important to your race for various reasons. Then prof yourself in a different type. Same goes for skills. As for anything else modifying by skill percent... i honestly don't know about anything else (skill or equipment) that will detract. I, also, have no idea how to increase spell level. But I have heard enough about it to realize I need to do more work with Meditation of Blades. a-g
f0xx
I've heard they get capped at 53' date=' but nothing would stop me from getting spell level of 54 if I could.[/quote'] I've personally heard that they are capped at level 55, but I have seen certain invoker to cast afflictive spells at level 58 (at least). I looked at some past postings and I see shaman spells are 52? Nope, they are not. I would also say at what level they cast maledictions, but I dunno if I am allowed. Tom
Is there a hard and fast way to tell what a spell's level is, without looking at the code?
Deykari
Some spells have a duration (or modifier) that is equal or proportionate to spell level. I can't remember what off-hand, but if you're casting one of said spells and it has a duration of say, 51, then you're casting that particular spell-type at level 51. There are ways to improve the level of spells overall (items that will give +1 to spell-level for example, or special abilities like cabal abilities that will provide bonuses) and ways to improve the spell level of particular spell types (e.g. there is an item that give +1 to the level of mental spells). Mana charge will improve what level you cast at too for an invoker, I believe. For proficiencies, they're capped at 110, with the exception of exotic. Whilst you can get items or perks at will in theory up your maximum profiency higher than the cap, they help in situations where you're under certain affects like hysteria and the like (which lowers your proficiency). If you have + to a spell by 30% and have it mastered, it might not cast higher than 110% but when you've had that particular spell dropped in profiency to 70%, that extra 30% will bring it to 100%, which helps. There might even be a few skills that are ridiculously hard to master and the bonus will help - storm giant berserker on water could enjoy that bonus to relax, for example. mya
I think it's 53 for regulars spells. Vockers get 4+3=57. Also when Viri did the change to cap spell levels, he said it now could only go to 56. I think. Also Shamans do not cast above L50. It the other classes that cast MAL's lower. Personally i think we are all wrong, and that only Malch know the real limit. He has made a lot of changes on the Mud, and sometimes what we think we see is not what really is. Oh yes' date=' I have.[/quote'] No, you have not. And there is no way to check this.
Guest emp_newb
Oh yes' date=' I have.[/quote'] I played 2 reaver invokers. I cannot get into great detail, but those have the potential to have the highest spell level in the game. I know for a fact you cannot cast above 55. Through HEAVY expirementation, and equipment. It is just not possible to hit level 58.

Twinblades713
My Demonspawn Huntress back in the day cast at level 200. My infravision killed people. I cast armor and they got blown away by the force. Accidentally cast chill touch and caused an ice age. Then I thought about casting burning hands and everything melted. Yeah.
