npc_death
Get any better. I've been playing off an on for about 8 years, and I'm still no good at PK. Can some give me some hints, some tips, general strategies, characters to make to get me into it, tell me what I'm doing wrong...I'll take anything. It's really frustrating to keep losing. Really. Evangelion
I know what you mean. There are certain race/class combos that I just don't play, because I can't help but get destroyed. I would suggest a halfling cleric.
Twinblades713
Same exact sitch with me. I'm not gonna lie, I can't survive as a melee. So I don't play them. I try and die, hehe. Dwarf cleric is impenetrable.
Deykari
I like Paladins, because they have decent offensive power, whilst providing utility spells and a nice defensive cushion to fall upon. You have scope to play very defensively, and be nigh-on unkillable if you want to be, or you can go all-out aggressive and if it doesn't go to plan, flee and live to hone your tactics another day. Make all preparations. Don't skimp on them where possible. Scrolls, staves and wands available to you? Then get any scrolls, staves and wands that will be of use, and keep a nice supply of them. Keep an eye on your who/where ALL the time, to avoid being caught by surprise wherever possible. Prior to battle, prepare yourself with all the relevant preparations. There is so much more that I don't think it would be possible to sum up in a single post. I'd suggest a neutral Warmaster Gladiator also - an honourable duellist that will quickly make you many friends across the entire alignment spectrum and allow you to hone your skills in tons of friendly challenges. Dwarf cleric is impenetrable.[/quote'] Hehe, same thing is with me, I suck with meles but I ain't gonna give up so easily. Lets see how much fully trained characters I need to delete to become slightly better... Usually those characters with which is harder to learn to play have a greater power peak (due to greater EQ), while with others it's not the same. Take a shaman for example, you can kill people in the most basic of armors and then you can dress yourself all in adeptus and stuff and you won't be any better killer. Also another thing, log your battles, ALWAYS and after that read the logs. This will help you become more comfortable with fighting certain characters, you will be able to see your mistakes and hopefully not do them again. mya
What they said. - First find the class that works for you. Not all classes work for all people. I can't do anything decent on a DK, but give me a Cleric and you will be running. - Learn about all the classes, nothing makes it easier to defeat someone than to know what usually kills you when playing that class. -Learn about all the skills/spells and their counters. Write it on a paper. -Learn about all the Equipment, and write it on a notepad. Desolation is great but not needed. - Get a good link, some of you guys have uber connections. I lag a bit. - Learn when to flee. Dieing accomplishes little for a veteran, but it can be fun. Good luck. "Dwarf cleric is impenetrable." Until someone comes at you with dual 30+ vuln weapons. Dey Dey nailed it. Paladins have the most power of any class I have played (base class) and can survive nearly anything for quite a long time. As well as having access to staves, and scrolls, they get all the curatives you could hope for. Paladins are an EXTREMELY useful class.
