Or a better question is, why can't I join and play again as well? :-( That's right, limited internet, fractured wrist and a "kind of" life since my net became limited. Theres just so many memories i got here that i cant leave for long w/out comin back.. and i even have FL people on my facebook page... its crazy! I like how some people here think/write too... like The Twins... i can always count on them to have something to make me laugh or think... and then theres the random elfdude postings that always remind me of my "frat boy" friends... or Pali's intelligent but somewhat depressing posts on religion... so yeah... the game is awesome... and the people are even awesomer... thats why i think i still hang out (and prolly why you do too)... that and im a nerd. __________________ Iconz - "What would you do if i sang out of tune? There will be times I'll put in 8 hours in a day for a couple, still... but then I don't connect for a few days, and then not for more than 20 minutes a few more days only to have the cycle start again. But, what brings me back is that everyone here are friends, to some degree. When I was working on the canal, I lived/ate/slept/partied/fought with my crew 24 hours out of the day for nine days in a row. I used to tell myself, "God damn, if it weren't for the pay I'd never talk to these people." But then we drifted to other jobs. Funny thing? Those people I "hated" on the canal... we get together on EVERY holiday for a few beers or a wine tour or ball game on the summer weekends or nights. We became a family. FL is the same. We all met here, in cyber space's dark, violent corner called Aabahran when we were 15, 16, some of us even 12 years old. Think back to your friends in Middle School... how many do you still talk to? I talk to one of them on a regular-ish basis. But... you guys... Iconz, I still wonder how you're doing from time to time (I'll post the log that makes me wonder at the end), Crypticant is still a God to me, as well as Viri. Mali is, in my mind, one of my best friends- and we've never met and never talked past text on a screen, but I still worry like hell when a huricane aims at his state or when I heard about his scuba accident. Deykari? Everyone loves him, so he doens't count. Twinblades, he's a great guy. Equinoxx (who is no longer here) was an AMAZING friend, but we drifted apart recently. Anoneemus and I celebrated our birthdays on the same day and actually spent our 19th together in Niagra Falls- I wonder how he's doing and if he's still kicking *** at the card tables. Bali? That guy is a legend here for taking the most ****, but like that friend everyone picks on... if anyone else ripped on him I'm sure we'd all go for the throat on the attacker... whether bali brought it on or not. What it is... we've all known each other through our coming of age. We've talked each other through our first loves, our first kids, our first marriages, our first divorces, or first family funerals, our first kisses, and our first arrests. We've given and gotten horrible advice, we've saved each others' lives and we've caused each other to want to take our own. Everyone here are the best friends I've had. And, I'm totally comfortable not meeting 99% of you, as I'm sure that would ruin how I view you all in my head. . .. ... .... I've been getting strong urges to actually play again lately, but 20 minutes tops every few days isn't nearly enough to consider replaying for real. Maybe once I get wireless net again I'll pop it back on to dink around with something interesting. And anyone who can keep coming back to a game that they used to play whether they hated it or not is a nerd especially when it's text based. From the looks of things, it still seems most everyone still plays or at least kind of plays from other posts on here. :-P And yeah, I have FL people on both my facebook and myspace, nothing wrong with that, it's healthy isn't it? :-P Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
