KRins
That's considerably better than my prediction rate...hell at the last PPV...I mispredicted the Machida and Hughes wins. Fortunately, I put my money into Gatorades, Monsters, and gym dues.

Guest emp_newb
I love MMA. EFC, Bodog, UFC, Caged Inferno, IFL. I love watching it all lol. Krins prediction sentence had me thinking about UFC upsets. So lets hear what you guys think for favorite upset fight. My personal fav upset is Gonzaga vs Crocop. That head kick came from NOWHERE, and I have never seen someones leg bend that way and not break. Crocop was knocked back over to Europe with his own kick. Chayesh
Serra over GSP was a pretty decent upset. My fave is REALLY old school...Kimo vs. Gracie, UFC 3. Not really an upset, since Gracie won, but this was the first time Gracie had ever really had to work for a win. He'd steamrolled everyone else in the past. Also, Kimo messed him up so bad (at one point it was in doubt that Gracie was going to pull it out), Royce forfeited the championship match against Shamrock due to injury. npc_death
I didn't, but I did consider Evans surprise victory in round 3 against Forrest really shocking.
Chayesh
Anyone got opinions on the upcoming Henderson-Bisping or Franklin-Wanderlei matchups? Does anyone else think Mir just might get his grill crushed by Lesnar? And I'm taking guesses on what volume of blood will get spilled in August in the Penn-Florian match...bidding starts at 10cc's. KRins
Give me Henderson in a split. Franklin...3rd round TKO?. Mir by...I want to say anaconda choke as I picture it randomly occurring in my mind...but are there arms big enough to get around that neck? probably another knee bar. 13 ccs, mostly from BJ's eyebrow, though he'll win by sub. Guest emp_newb
well I think lesnar is gonna beat mir. Lesnar is a ground MONSTER. for henderson bisping. I love the count, and he is a very very well trained fighter. I look for bisping to get the W. Wanderlei is getting on in the years, and franklin has that hunger still. Sadly I am leaning more at the axe murderer. mmmmmmmmmm. Penn is gonna cut k-flo good. Cut him real good. Edit- 10 cc are you kidding? Im looking for a pint

Im looking for a pint I'm always looking for a pint, usually porters or amber lagers. I can't discount the massive stud that Henderson is, however, he's an older massive stud. I think Bisping will be hungrier and win. I want the Ace to lay out Silva. At least he won't get pwned by two guys named Silva. Penn might cut up K-Flo, but then he'll still go for the choke 3 times, fail, lose and claim that K-Flo needs to be sanctioned for intentionally bleeding on himself in the corner. As for Mir, I HOPE that Lesnar cracks him up. Lesnar had him, FRIGGIN HAD HIM, in their first meeting but didn't know what to do. Lesnar has been total class in every interview I've seen, respectful of his place as the newbie champ. Mir is a punkass. Two words: HULK SMASH! He is a GREAT, and aggressive fighter. 2) You cannot fault anyone for losing to anderson silva. ever.
KRins
and you can rain praise on someone who does this to The Spider...the good one...not Kendall Grove. http://www.fightauthority.com/martial-arts-training-fights/mma-training-and-fights/ryo-chonan-flying-scissor-heel-hook-on-anderson-silva/
Guest emp_newb
dude, I have seen that before and never will I ever think it was anything other than a fluke hehe. KRins
Oh...it was the biggest desperation payoff in MMA history perhaps...but damn if it isn't amazing every single time I've seen it.
HouselessRogue
Oh...it was the biggest desperation payoff in MMA history perhaps...but damn if it isn't amazing every single time I've seen it. Agreed. But it was like winning the lottery. He got real friggin' lucky. I absolutely love Wanderlei but without his head stomps and soccer kicks he has lost a lot of his game. Take into account ridiculous sustained punishment from the pride heavyweights and Wanderlei is no longer a monster. He will get knocked out again... and hopefully retire. Mir will submit Lesnar. Lesnar is huge and strong but he doesn't have true MMA skills. It will catch up to him ALA Bob Sapp. Penn's conditioning is ****. Florian is always in awesome shape. Florian gets the edge since I think this fight will go the distance. I don't like "the Count" very much. I feel like he is just okay in the fight game. IMHO he lost the fight to Matt Hamill decidedly and got the nod because they were in England (no offense to my mudding brits). Dan Henderson is a beast. He has some serious fight experience. He is getting up in age and that kind of wear and tear takes its toll. But... I say Henderson. TKO. Late 2nd or early 3rd round.
npc_death
Franklin over Silva due to being a crisper striker. Either a unanimous decision or a 3rd round TKO. Henderson over Bisping vis unanimous decision. Lesnar over Mir. TKO third round. The thought that he doesn't have MMA skills doesn't take into account his potential evolution, and you're probably going to be shocked again and blame his victory on his size. Florian over Penn. TKO at the end of the third or in the early part of the fourth. Both of these guys are true hybrid fighters. Physically, Penn is the variable. His conditioning is suspect, but his hands are heavier than Florian's. Despite that, I see Florian as a little bit hungrier and a little bit more intelligent. npc_death
I think the hardest fight to call is GSP v. Thiago Alves. I'm not sure about that one. Both have the capability of winning. If GSP wins, I see a unanimous decision. If Alves wins, it'll be a TKO round 3 or 4. The swing factor will be Alves's takedown defense. I feel like now that I've boasted a high prediction rate, I've jinxed myself. We'll see how it goes.
Guest emp_newb
I will take GSP over Alves. But for the same reason I will pick an STi over an EVO. Something about the STi is just, meaner.
Psycho Child
Recent snow track test by Motor Trend STi won over the EVO. In both summer and winter tires. Only thing EVO did better on was the figure eight.

They both pick the STi because it just feels and looks MEAN.

oldskooler
HBWillie, from the pic I saw of you before I'd say you have a head that looks like it's made for mma. You should join the ucf and make your screenname a reality. What I don't understand is how you can say that Miguel Torres is the best pound for pound fighter, which he is, and then put him at #5. He trained with the gracies themselves. I remember before there were rounds and time limits, the ken shamrock vs. royce gracie fight lasted longer than prolly any fight since. Back then there werent weightclasses and the average fight lasted 45 seconds. oh and dan severn was a beast, when you could knee people in the face while having them in a cradle. Iconz
So I hear Roy "Big Country" Nelso is joinin the season 10 cast of TUF... man oh man! Its gettin more interestin by the day. I loved watchin some of his fights in the IFL... you see this dude w/ this huge gut... and you think "another slugger"... and then he takes dudes to the floor and works the ground game and subs dudes... crazy. I guess his stock took a hit after the pitbull cleaned his clock so now only way he can get in is thru TUF.. and speakin of Mr. Glass Jaw.... YOU KIDDIN ME ARLOVSKI? AGAIN? Dude... i wish it were possible to train your chin b/c i like Arlovski... but like someone put it "Arlovski is a much more technical striker than Rogers... too bad he has a glass jaw". Before anyone says anything about an early stoppage... naw dude... watch the slowmo... he got yakked.... Big John saved him some punishment. In the same "are you kiddin me" category... really Lil Evil? Really? No mention of Brown vs Faber II? In other news... Gina Carano vs Cyborg... 145 lbs... 5 full 5 min rounds for the newly created belt. Alll i can say is its bout time the females were given some shine. This is gunna be a war... and while i love everything about Gina Carano's humble attitude ... i think Cyborg is gunna bash her pretty face in cuz lets face it... Cyborgs a man. I wonder who comes after the fight? Maybe it will be my new obbsession Miriam Nakamoto *drools*... or one of the chicks that Sherdog has ranked as top P4P(scroll to bottom). Silva vs Franklin... i dunno... i think Wanderlei is past his prime and Franklin is hungrier. The only reason id root for Wandy is if this will in fact set up a fight between him and Spider... othawise Franklin wins on a sweet counterpunch. To tell you the truth... im more pumped bout Kongo vs Velasquez... winner gets a title shot? __________________ Iconz - Mmalicious.... nom nom nom
